Continue working on your final speeches. These will be delivered next Tuesday ~~omg but not really so do not stress~~ and I expect them all to be exceptional. Go.

Honesty: Use E/P/L to tell me the biggest whopping lie...and I have to buy it.

301--Final Project
I'm here to answer your questions. For those of you who have not yet made an appointment, I am going to be suprmely generous. Here is my phone.

Make your appointment with Bristow for Friday.

Make an appointment with Red. He can do it all weekend I think.

Jack comes in and kind of uncomfortably nods at CJ. He borrows the phone and makes an appointment with Principal Bristow. He's pretty sure he can work off his notes so his memory loss shouldn't be a problem.

For this class, at least.

She smiles back, softly. "Jack....can I offer you any help? I think I can handle an exemption if you don't feel up to pulling this off."

How about... if I totally suck at this, you go easy on me? Because I think I bombed my Criminal Justice final this morning, and I don't know anything about the Psych project that's my final.

"Chip...I always go easy on you. I just push. Pushed. Went." she breathes in deep, "God, this is hard on me. I'm sorry."

[Jack shakes his head.] No, I'm sorry. I... don't want to make this hard on you. I hate... I hate the thought that I'm hurting you, just by being here and not remembering.

"It's not your fault, hon...Jack. We're working on it, fixing it. And even if you don't remember, I do. I'll fill you in on all of it. If you want to know."

I want to know... but people keep coming up to me and saying things that I should know and... it's weird hearing my life without having recognition of it. I don't know if telling me would help. [He looks up at her, startled.] You think you can fix it? [His face lights up.] How?

Arching her eyebrow, she suddenly realizes he has no clue what the expression means. "Swee--Jack, I don't know. Ten's working on it."

"Who's Ten?"

Her lips freeze as she begins to ask what, and she blinks several times. Her thought continues in her head--What the hell am I supposed to tell you, Jack?--

"Well, I guess he's kind of...your dad? He's my boyfriend, and you two...got along."

Could this BE more awkward?

Jack considers this. "Okay. He's got a way of figuring this out?"

"Evidently, hon. Don't worry. If he can turn it around, he will. If he can't..." she smiles at him softly, "you can come home and we'll get you up to speed before next term."

Jack sighs. "What's home? I hate this feeling that I should... be comfortable in my space. I can deal with it being a new situation. I can't stand the feeling that I'm the only one feeling this way -- off-balance."

"Chip, sweetie, listen to me?" she waits until he looks at her before bending low so she can speak softly, "I love you, hon. And you loved me. Maybe you will again. Maybe you won't. But I have a piece of paper that says your ass is mine until you turn eighteen. So I'm pulling the mom card, and you're going to come home...when you're ready. Your room is there. Your stuff. And the people who care about you most in the universe. Hon, once I told you to have faith that things would be ok. If I wish you could remember anything...I wish you could remember that."

She runs her hand softly through his hair. "You are not alone. Whatever you feel, whatever you think...I'm right here with you, babe. Always."

Jack closes his eyes, and swallows. "I wish... gah. I wish I remembered." He looks at her. "I want to trust you."

"I want you to trust me again, Chip. I want you back. Please, give me that chance?"

"I can't trust you again," Jack says slowly. "As far as my brain's concerned, I can figure out how to trust you for the first time." He looks up at meets her eyes. "But I can try."

She closes her eyes, tears finally slipping down her cheeks. "I can work with that."

Veronica walks by Jack's desk.

"Hey, Harkness, you still want to do that marathon this weekend?"

Jack looks up at her, blankly. "We were going to go running this weekend?"

She gives him a weird look. "No, the Christmas movie marathon? In the dorm common room? We talked about it at Caritas last week."

"Ah. Last week. Um... memory got erased two days ago. But hey. I'm up for a Christmas movie marathon. Saturday? We got the movies picked out yet? Because I just saw that Secrecy Technical Cinema 5000 did an STC5k of 'Santa Claus Conquers the Martians". I love watching Pole, Bob and Pigeon tear movies apart, you know?"

"Oh, Jack, that's terrible! Um, I'm Veronica, by the way. In case you don't remember." She wonders if this has anything to do with why CJ was so upset yesterday.

"And, um, we hadn't picked a bunch of movies, but I definitely wanted to play A Christmas Story."

Jack grins at her, relieved. "Hi, Veronica. I keep feeling so weird asking people for their names when I'm supposed to know them. A Christmas Story is good, too. Should we do this as an afternoon thing, an evening thing, or an afternoon-into-evening thing?"

"No problem. It's not your fault," she says with a reassuring smile. "I was thinking an all day kind of thing so people can stop in whenever. I can swing by the NPC grocery store and pick up some cookies, but I figured people could provide their own snacks."
