Lee sits down and endeavors to study.

Anders comes in and sits down near Lee, notes and books for his final Classics project piled up in his arms as his backpack has finally given up the ghost.

"Hey, Adama."

Lee smiles widely. "Hey, Anders. Never got to tell you that I enjoyed the pagent. A lot. Well done!"

"Shut up, Adama," says Anders, but he's grinning good-naturedly. "Considering most of us didn't know what the frak we were doing, I think it went okay. Except for Crichton running me over. But . . . Rory as the tree . . . and Angel . . ." He snickers. "Yeah, I'm not gonna be forgetting that experience."

He chuckles. "Well, the audience sure loved it, I could tell."

"You ready for the try-outs on Wednesday?," and then he laughs again, "although, knowing your exercise regime, I shouldn't even ask. I'm sure you and Kara will knock their socks off."

"I think I'm ready, yeah. Nervous as hell, but I'll be ready if it kills me." He casts a sidelong glance at Lee. "Is Kara nervous? She never lets on like she is, but I know how much this means to her. Probably even more than it does to me."

Lee’s startled at the question. “Well, maybe a little, I guess, but she’d never show it. Pyramid’s her life, you know. There’s a lot riding on Wednesday, but she’s never one to back down from a challenge.”

Anders nods. "Yeah. 's like I said, you know? She plays it down if you ask her, but I see what she's like out there on the court, and it's kinda . . . almost scary. She really drives herself out there. Like she wants it more than I do." He shrugs, and offers Lee a confident smile, and a gumball. "I think she'll do fine. It's me I'm worried about."

Lee leans back. “And what Kara wants, Kara gets,” he says nodding and takes the gumball with a thanks.

“I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about, Anders, I’ve seen you out there in the court. Takes a lot of eye/hand coordination and you’ve got it.” He takes a moment before saying, “And if you weren’t so keen on pyramid, I’d recommend the Fleet. Pilots need that kind of quick reflexes and agility.”

"Who, me?" Anders snorts. "Been helping Cally with that Viper on the roof. I've seen those cockpits. You'd have to use a crowbar to get me in and out of there every time. Thanks, but nah. Don't think the Fleet's my thing. I like having an offseason." He winks at Lee, tosses a gumball up into the air, and catches it in his mouth. "Take it as a compliment, though."

"Well, each profession takes all kinds," he says.

"Huh. Yeah, s'pose I could always keep it in mind as an option, huh?" Thoughtfully, Anders leans back in his chair and almost leans too far and falls over backward. He grabs the edge of the table and regains his balance, laughing at himself. "What was that about coordination again?"

"Ah, we're all heroes in training, right?" Lee snarks back.

Anders snickers and cracks open one of his Classics books. "Some way or other, yeah, I guess. Just different kinds, huh?"

"Exactly," and he pauses, eyeing the open book. "I'll let you get back to it then," and he returns to his own studying.

Kiki remembers she has an essay due for business class, and she starts working on it.

Since Paige has no actual classes today she's sitting in study hall having a small nervous breakdown studying, or more specifically still trying to write the sestina for her Poetry class and her piece on Dante for Western Lit.
