Welcome to Detention.

Lorelai hasn't programmed the Danger Room Shop because there are too many buttons and she doesn't want to break anything.

She has, however, arrived laden with bags and boxes of supplies.

"Okay gang," she says once everyone has checked in. "I realize you all apparently did very bad things or you wouldn't have ended up here. But it's almost Christmas, so instead of punishing you like some of the other teachers did, I'm going to make you spend the day making Christmas decorations."

She looks entirely too pleased with herself.

"I've brought in all kinds of craft supplies, including a ton of glitter. I'd like to use your finished products to decorate my husband's diner, so make them really good, okay?"

"Aww that's sweet," Lorelai says. "I never made crafts with my daughter. We tried making popcorn garland once, but we ate all the popcorn before we got them strung. And then there was the time we were going to make wreaths to give as gifts to our friends but," she trails off, shaking her head and shuddering slightly. "Nevermind, I'm not supposed to talk about that anymore because I end up with nightmares."

Ivanova laughed. "Pine-induced flashbacks? Same thing. We called it the Babushka Tragedy of '38. One of the only things that made her smile . . . near the end."
