Daniel's office hours

He's got homework to mark.

He's got finals to write.

Neither of which seem very appealing.

But his copy of Archaeology was. And if anyone asked, he could say that he was reading it for inspiration. Right?

Shep knocks on the door jamb. "Yo, Dr. J, you wanted to see me?"

"Ah, yes. Mr Sheppard. Please, come in and take a seat."

Shep moves in slowly, fidgeting with the strap to his backpack. "Okay, given that I'm the only one showing up for class and that I'm actually doing my homework, why do I feel like I'm getting called on the carpet?"

Daniel laughed. "Don't worry. I'm just curious about your thoughts with what to do for the rest of the semester. I've emailed Mr Potter, and asked him to come and see me, so hopefully he'll actually turn up to the rest of the classes. If not... well, you're a class of one."

Relaxing, Shep falls back on his earlier answer. "I still like the idea that we do it like Survivor. Last guy still in the class gets an A."

"But seriously, what else do we need to cover?"

"Well, there's still a number of things," Daniel said, leaning back in his chair. "But if you're happy with me just setting you your final and leaving it at that, then that's fine with me."

As long as the final doesn't cover that 'number of things', sure. One more hour a day for each of us.

Daniel laughed. "I'll make sure it doesn't," he said. "Thank you for your time, John. Do you want to pick up the final, or will emailing it to you be sufficiant?"

"Email's cool. then I can use my notes and you won't know."

Shep stands. "It was a cool class while it lasted." He shrugs. What exactly do you say to a prof whose class no one bothers attending any more?

Daniel nodded. "It will probably be in the form of extended essay questions, so any sources used will need to be properly cited. But I'll include that information in the body of the email.

Thank you, Mr Sheppard."

Shep grinned, but didn't really look pleased. Yay another essay.
