Bridge enters Study Hall and bounces over to Duo.

"Dude! Hey! Haven't seen you in ages, man!"

Duo looks up and grins at Bridge. "Dude, yourself! What's up, man?"

"Not much... well, I'm a little nervous about the whole pageant thing tonight, but I'm sure it's gonna be cool. Well, except for the part where I have to kiss my best friend's girlfriend. He's kinda upset at me about that, which sucks." He leans over and looks at the schematics. "What's all that for? You buildin' something?"

"Oh yeah! I heard about that thing! What's the deal with that? Something about music and reenactments or somethin'? And you get a kiss outta it?" Duo laughs. "Dunno how that happens! Though if it's just for a show, it shouldn't really count. I guess you could tell him that you think it's gross and hate it...but then that always leaves open the possibility that he'll think you're dissin' his girl..." Duo thinks. "Huh. Sticky situation, my friend." He nods sympathetically.

He looks down at the schematics. "Oh! Yeah! I was gonna ask you about that, anyway, dude! Figured you might be able to offer some input, cuz you're from around this century, yeah? I'm tryin' to build a 'D-V-D player.' Know anything 'bout that?"

"Yeah, it's like... I already tried telling him that- and he still kinda wants to kill me. It's not like I wrote the script! And I mean, Cally's a nice girl and all, I like her... but not like that, you know?" Bridge scowls for a second, and then grins. "This century, yeah. Not precisely this decade, but I'm still pretty familiar with all the technology... do you have this part yet?" he points to something on the schematics. "Because I've got a couple of those. You could use one if you needed. Oh, and that one there!"

Duo shakes his head. "Dude, I hear ya. He'll get over it, I bet, since I'm sure he doesn't want to ruin this pageant...thingie," He gestures vaguely and shrugs. "and more importantly, your friendship. Ya know, all that mushy junk they talk about." He rolls his eyes but grins.

"Hey, no! I don't have that part yet! I could really use one? Sweet, dude, thanks! Any ideas on how to get this thing," he points to a corner of the schematic. "to work with these parts," he points again. "since I don't have the exact pieces?"

"I hope so," Bridge says, and sighs a little mournfully before turning his attention back to the schematics. "Yeah, actually, you just need to switch those two wires around so that the yellow one hooks up here, and the black one is here..." he claps his hands together, "and presto!"

"Don't let it get ya down, dude. You said it's Miss Cally, right? And she's with Anders? Anders is a good guy, I think." He claps Bridge on the shoulder.

Duo ponders the mechanics and then nods with a big grin. "You're right, man! Thanks! Dunno what I would have gotten with those wires swapped! Maybe this thing would steal people's stuff and barter for..." He thinks for a second. "...eggnog!" He laughs.

"Come by anytime to get those parts you need. Uh, except tonight, obviously, since I won't be there. And yeah... I mean, stuff built here already seems to act strange enough. Trying to think of what your DVD player would do if that had happened is kind of frightening."

Duo grins. "Thanks, dude! Maybe I'll drop by Saturday after I really go through my room and closet to see what else I'm lackin'. Though I might get stabbed before then." He grins mischeviously. "Hamlet doesn't take too kindly to my work habits." He laughs. "That's true enough. Talkin' toasters and all that. Here's to hopin' this thing turns out normal. Or as normal as possible."

Bridge facepalms. "Oh man, don't even remind me about the talking toaster. I'm still not sure how that happened. Hamlet's pretty cool, even if the stabbing thing is a little extreme. It's kinda funny to see how he reacts whenever I drag him along on an adventure, though."

Duo laughs and shakes his head. "Kinda like me and ol' Fluffypants; no idea what went wrong there, but man, you got that right about Hamlet! Pushin' the guy's buttons is half the fun--I would know, my best buddy back home is the same way. All emo and broody and 'Shut up or I'll kill you, Duo.' They never follow through! They don't want to admit they're really good guys." Duo grins.

"Heh, yeah... I have a friend like that at home too. Sky's always harping on me for disobeying rules and things an' makin' threats at me," he laughs. "It's hard work, for people like us, gettin' them to lighten up!"

Duo nods and grins. "For sure, man, I knew you'd get it! And all that broodin', 'sjust crampin' our style!" He laughs and shakes his head. "Man, those guys. Tsk. But all the more fun for us! Plus, you gotta love 'em, even if they're servin' up death threats to us with such flawless social skills; I mean, come on! Rules are made to be broken!" He grins again.

Marty pokes his head into Study Hall and sees Bridge.

"Hey Bridge! I wanted to check with you and see if you guys had fixed my cell phone yet."

"Marty!" Bridge waves. "And, yeah, we totally did. Only with all the pageant-y stuff that's been going on I sort of forgot to let you know."

"No problem. When do you want me to pick it up? I forgot the pageant was going on tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Break a leg and all that."

"Well, I'm supposed to meet up in the Common Room with my fellow ~~victims~~ cast members this afternoon... I can bring it with me and you could pick it up there?"

"Sounds like a plan! Good luck tonight. Just remember not to say 'MacBeth' when you're in the theater. It's supposed to be bad luck."

"Thanks... I'm pretty sure we'll need it. And you know, I've heard that, about the whole "MacBeth" thing. Theatre traditions are weird," Bridge shrugs.

"Yeah. I think if you say the name of the play you have to turn around three times and either curse or spit. not sure which."
