As the students enter the classroom, They'll see and outdoor setting with multiple carts (the size of a Cooper mini) standing in front of a river.

The fact that the river is a mauve color should not be questioned.

"Today's assignment is to build a bridge or transport that will allow you to take the cart over from this side of the river to the other. There are various types of natural materials available around you and any tools you need will be made available."

*DEATH considers the nature of the problem and how to most efficiently solve it. Finding a large sized sapling, DEATH forces it to bend until the top is touching the ground and then stakes it into place. He then begins to lash together, with lashing that is a suspiciously complimentary color to the mauve river, a flat structure that resembles a spatula. He ties this to the top of the sapling.

Wheeling the cart over the platform, DEATH carefully positions it and, upon further consideration, attaches some flowers to the cart for effect. Once he is satisfied, he cuts the robe staking the sapling to the ground.

Much in the manner of Wile E. Coyote (DEATH, it seems, has discovered cartoons), the cart goes flying through the air as the sapling miraculously resumes its straight posture. It flyers over the river and lands on the other side, shattering into a myriad of peices.

DEATH marvels at his accomplishment.*

Sam also marvelled at the accomplishment. "Wow."

Shep finds enough dropped wood in the forest to make a relatively large raft. It's not as wide as the river or anything, but it will displace the weight of the Cooper enough that the whole thing will float from one side to the other like something out of "Huck Finn".

Han stares at the river, and starts sizing up the natural materials. She picks up a chainsaw, and staggers under the weight of it. "Aw crap."

She discards it and picks up a wicked looking bow saw and heads for a grove of saplings.

When Han puts the saw down for a minute, Shep steps up next to him.

"Talk to you after class?"

"Sure. What's up?"

Lana and I wanted to see if you wanted to finish that discussion we started in study hall yesterday.

"Sure, where?"

Walk over to the Perk with me after Shop. Lana's gonna meet us there.

"Ok"

Han's not sure why her mouth is all dry suddenly, or why she feels a little scared.

Lana and I had an interesting talk last night. I'll fill you in on the way over.

Sam stood for a few minutes, trying to come up with a solution that didn't involve decimating a chunk of the woods. After some wandering, she found a couple of large dead, but not completely rotted, trees on the ground.

She cut the trees into two or three foot lengths using a chainsaw and placed them in the river, seating them so they were solid in the riverbed, but still stuck out a bit and were stable for walking on. They were also relatively close together.

Once she was finished with this, she wheeled the cart across on the makeshift road thing. She almost dumped the cart overboard a couple of times, but ended up making it across finally.

Bridge finds a tree to lean against and does a handstand in order to think this through properly.

Several logs and a vine (to hold on to for balance) later, Bridge has made his way across his, well, bridge...

Krycek eyes the river, then proceeds to build a very sketchy sort of raft out of saplings and vines, then uses another vine to run to the other side and around a tree so that you can pull the raft with cart across the river.

Surprisingly enough Jack manages to pull this one off without much of a fuss. Of coure not going first possibly helped a bit.

There was a chainsaw and several helpless trees involved but Jack managed to make a sturdy, if somewhat narrow, bridge to drag/push the cart across.

"Why are the rivers in your world so freaky?"

Mac shrugs. "I've got a problem with the tint control on the software program. I'm having the new teacher come in to take a look at it."

"Oh good, for a moment I thought maybe it was some weird form of expression. Wait. We have a new teacher?"

"Jenny Calendar. She's the substitute teacher for psychology."

John manages to find a handful of trees that were tall enough to span the river when chopped down... and were close enough to not be too much of a problem manouvering them. He dug a pit near the river and erected a few tripod shaped things to take the fallen tree, get the big end in the pit, raise it up, and drop it over the river.

4 trees made a suitable bridge to get JOhn and the cart across.
