Anakin flushed scarlet. "Fine," he choked out. "You're being quite the, um, tree there."

"Just doing what the disembodied voice told me to," Rory shrugged as she gyrated.

"Be glad you can't see what he's wearing," Anakin shot back.

Rory made a face, and swiveled her hips. "You can see him?"

"Yup. Sparkly t-shirt, scary shoes and all." Anakin grimaced. "You're not missing anything. Trust me."

Rory laughed in spite of herself, and shimmied. Provocatively. "Sparkly? I wish I had more sparkly clothing."

Anakin grinned. "Check. One t-shirt that says 'Jazz hands' in glitter coming to a dorm room near you."

"Jazz hands?" Rory asked skeptically. "Why...why jazz hands? I'm not a huge Fosse fan, really."

Anakin nodded his head at DEATH. "That's what his shirt says. It's about the sparkliest thing I've ever seen, including that bottle of glitter I have." He smiled. "Perhaps you'd prefer something in pink instead?"

"You still have glitter?" Rory said gleefully, gyrating away. "Pink glitter is, naturally, the best thing ever."

"I still have glitter," Anakin said. "Force powers make sure it all gets back into it's little bottle." He smiled. "Michael wouldn't be happy to find glitter all over the room because I was practicing fine motor control."

He glowered. "But I draw the line at pink glitter."

Rory pouted. And shimmied. But mostly pouted.

"But Anakin. Pink glitter. It's so sparkly and pretty!"

Anakin was in no way distracted by either the pouting or the shimmying. Really.

Because pink glitter.

"Maybe I'll get some for you," he suggested. "But I'll stick with gold for me."

"But I can't float glitter!" Rory exclaimed. "So 'tis useless for me to have it. Plus, it's a testament to your masculinity."

She tried to look very wise and convincing.

Unfortunately, she was still 'dancing.'

So it probably didn't really work.

"That's the most bizarre argument," Anakin said, blinking. He watched her dance for a little longer. "The dancing's not really helping, either," he added with smile. "It's very treelike, though. If they, um, shimmied."

"Okay, it takes a real man to embrace the power of pink," Rory said reasonably. "He who is so secure in his masculinity should have no problem with enjoying a stereotypically 'feminine' color."

She continued shimmying provocatively. "And this dancing was so, so not my idea. Nor the tree thing. Nor the singing. I didn't even do anything. All I did was walk into the theater."

"Oh," Anakin said. "In that case, um, still no. I already have enough glitter." He smiled. "But if I run out, maybe I'll let you pick out the next color."

"And you'll be a very cute tree," he continued. "I, on other hand, must channel my inner Zombie King and lurch around the stage in powder blue tights." He shot a sour look at DEATH. "And I'm here because I was trying to help out a fellow student. Teach me to do that again."

Rory made a mental note to hide Anakin's glitter. Fucshia would be a good color, yes. Or perhaps simply bright pink. She smiled.

"Well, you'll be a great Zombie King, and certainly more handsome than any zombie I've ever seen," Rory said happily, shimmying and blushing. "Not that that's a huge compliment, since, y'know, zombies are gross. But you know what I mean."

"Thanks," Anakin muttered, turning red. "I think I know what you mean." His eyes twinkled. "At least we'll be slightly better dressed than the ones we saw at Zombie Weekend. Probably won't be burning down a diner as part of the grand finale, either."

"Well, you're handsome even when not compared to the undead," Rory tossed over her shoulder, shimmying with her back to him. "S'all I meant."

"And no, Luke would not like that," she agreed solemnly. "Though knowing this crowd, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some unexpected pyrotechnics."

Anakin blushed to the roots of his hair, staring very hard at the floor.

"Well, Angel's gonna be swinging through the air," he said. "Maybe there'll be fire too?" His eyes gleamed. "Maybe even at the same time?"

"Will be be swinging on a noose?" Rory asked hopefully. "Not that that would do anything, since he doesn't breathe. But it'd be fun for me."

She bit her lip as she shimmied back around to face Anakin. "Hmm. Now, I know none of us would ever intentionally set anyone on fire. But it would be sad if perhaps there was some kind of spontaneous combustion, wouldn't it?"

"Probably not the tone Principal Bristow's looking for," Anakin said with a small smile. "More dancing, less, um, flaming death."

He shrugged. "Not that I'd object too terribly much to flaming death myself." He coughed. "For other beings, I mean. Not for me."

"I don't think I'd wish a flaming death on almost anyone," Rory said, looking thoughtful. "I know that when I die, I want it to be at a happy moment. Fire? Yeah, not so much with the fun, for me. I have bad experiences with it."

She shuddered slightly, though it may not have been noticable due to her continued shimmying.
