Egyptian Archaeology

Daniel's still looking pretty happy, but still moving gingerly at the front of the classroom.

"Morning everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. I'll have the homework on my desk, please, at the end of the lesson.  Now, instead of my scheduled lecture, we're going to have a question and answer discussion. We're going to talk about what you want to talk about. That okay with you? Or should I continue talking about Sais?"

He grins.

"Someone will ask a question, and we'll see if anyone else knows the answer. If not, then I'll do my best to answer it.

Now? Any questions?"

At the end of the lesson, he smiles.

"Pick one of the subjects we talked about, and I want a hundred words on it for Wednesday. Thank you everyone. Have a good couple of days."

Signs in and asks and answers some very thoughtful questions.

Signs in and participates in the question and answer session.

Turns in adequately done homework.

Turns in extremely well-done homework as usual.

Kawalsky signed in. He almost couldn't believe it when Daniel asked for questions. He certainly hadn't dictated that they had to be related to Egyptian Archaeology, or any archaeology really. He raised his hand and, when called upon, asked, "If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?"

Some days it was just too easy to be a smart ass.

"You didn't say the questions had to be about Egypt or archaeology," Kawalsky said.

"You said we were gonna talk about what we wanted and then asked for someone to ask questions and other people to answer them, and if they can't, you'll try. No Egypt or archaeology, and I'm genuinely interested in Peter Piper's peck of pickled peppers and where he put them." Perhaps it was just that he was on a roll for getting people to want to kick his ass. Yes, that must have been it.

"Cupboard?" Cameron tries.

"Why pyramids and not... spheres?"

Cameron hands in his homework. There might be a lot of talk about jackals and hyena's and why wolves are cooler to draw anyway.

Kawalsky raised his hand again.

"Who built the pyramids?"

"Pyramids are easier. It's like making them with Lego blocks.. it's way easier to build a pyramid than a sphere."

"Yeah, but spheres are fun."

"And they make cooler Borg ships. I agree. But since they didn't have cranes or anything, and they had to make them out of big limestone rocks, so it would've been hard to move unless they had alien technology."
