Quantum Physics 123: Monday 5 December

[The Doctor, even though he doesn't seem to be in the best of moods, has brought peppermint and cherry candy canes.]

Easy class today, everyone. Essentially, I want to hear what you've come up with so far for your final projects. These are, need I say, very, very important for your grade. If you want to talk with me privately, that's fine, but perhaps your classmates could also provide some good insight. Sometimes it's better to have a second opinion.

So, let's talk.

Sam sat quietly in class, waiting to hear about people's projects.

"Well, um..." Jack tries to think about how he can discuss his project in the abstract, and then plunges in. "Over Parents' Weekend, managed to plant information about a possible future and send it to a future version of myself. Um, the possible future was farther forward than the version of myself I sent it to, because otherwise it would have been past for him. So I'm trying to examine exactly how screwed up I could have made the timeline by doing that. And also how drinking heavily doesn't make the verb tense confusion inherent in time travel any easier to deal with." Jack blinks. "Did that make any sense?"

Sam nodded, although she wasn't sure about the bit about the drinking and verb tenses. "How are you going to show that? Are you making a model?"

Sonia's one trip to the library...didn't end so well, but she's been able to find books and information elsewhere not rp'ed, cos the mun's RL schedule is hellish.

"Ah..I've found some information (http://themaclellans.com/timetravel.html) on time dilation. (http://theory.uwinnipeg.ca/mod_tech/node135.html) It's not the overall topic of my research, but it further explains the idea I'm investigating, so it should be of some use.

[Er, that should be "*one* of the ideas." Sheesh.]

Jessica comes in and waits for someone else to speak because the mun is reading fanfiction.

Cally goes to describe her work at a decent length. It has something to do with going back in time and causing the toaster never to be invented, only to invent it herself.

This would be RPed out and more thought out if the mun wasn't dying of paper writing, omg, I hate life, woe is me, etcetera.

John is in class, tapping his pen.

"I wanna do more research and studying on the effects, both negative and positive, of two of the same person being in one time period. For instance, if I travelled to another point in time, another dimension and there was another John Crichton, would ther be catastrophic results or would it matter at all?"
