[OOC: Sorry this is late]

A sign on the Danger Shop directs students in detention to the theater. Dean Bristow is sitting there, working on his opus. Lumber, wood, and various other building materials are sitting on the stage.

"Today, you will build the stable and manger for the pageant. Plans are laid out. The manger must be mobile so it can be rolled onto the stage after the song and dance numbers and rolled off again at the end."

"Talking will be allowed, however, you must focus on the task at hand."

ETA: Detention is out. Beautiful set, folks.

Faith heads to the theater, scowl on her face. "Great," she mutters under her breath. "Like I know how to build things."

"It will be an excellent opportunity to learn."

Not!Draco checks in after talking to Lee in the halls ~~because ZOMG mun forgot he had detention today~~. He is in a good, no great mood.

Anders checks in and groans when he realizes he's helping further his other punishment.

Bagoas checks in, looking almost cheerful. He believes this might just be the best day ever to be away from Han for a spell.

Faith checks in. ~~superlate because OMG, I didn't notice this~~

Sawyer checks in gets to work on what he's supposed to do.

Mystique checks in, grimacing at the wooodworking.

For mobility. Dean Bristow will be away during this portion for a meeting with Professor Jerusalem, but keep in mind that he sees all.

Draco picks up a hammer and give the air a few practice whacks. Hmmm, didn't seem too hard.

A wheeled platform shouldn't be too hard . . . after all, Anders managed to get the wheels onto the Pyramid court panels, and those have stood up to several good hard practice sessions already.

Luckily, attaching caster wheels to a wooden platform is really, really easy, and even Anders, technically challenged as he might be, can handle a screwdriver.

He's awfully pleased with himself.

Sawyer helps with the assembly of the platform, he's had training in carpentry stuff like this and this wasn't that hard.

Which the manger is inside.

Walls are easy, right?

. . . right?

Well, there's no moving parts and no little "fiddly bits," so Anders figures he's safest here ~~since when it comes to building things, it's dangerous to let him do that alone~~. He starts arranging studs to form the framework for one wall and gets to work.

It would probably be a good idea to check up on his work at some point.

Not!Draco watches Anders start to build the walls. He felt really stupid at the moment and for once is thankful he looked like Weasley. He puts down his hammer, which he wasn't quite sure how to use anyways, and walks over to Anders.

"Hey um...do you know what you're doing? Cause I have no clue." he asked.

"Oh, hey," says Anders, looking up from where he's been squinting at a possible joint. "I kinda gotta say I don't, actually."

He rubs at the back of his neck and gives the wall framework another speculative glance. "But I mean, how hard can it be? It's just a wall. All it has to do is stand there and sort of . . . not fall over, right?"

Animal pens, manger/cradle, etc.

"Hm," Faith said to herself. "Looks almost like jail."

And, indeed, her 'animal pens' seem to be taking on a prison-like atmosphere.

Anders takes a break from trying to figure out how to build this wall (because thinking is hard work, yo) and stares at Faith's animal pen~~itentiarie~~s.

Could be useful, depending on who or what gets cast as the animals, really.

Faith looks over to Anders and grins. "Like them? I'm not too much of, like, an expert or anything, but I figure that they kinda look like this?" she says with a shrug.

Anders laughs and spreads his hands in the air. "Don't look at me for accuracy, dude, I know nothing about this holiday. They look good to me, though."

"Looks good." Mystique looks over from her own, which has been put together efficiently but with an absolute lack of frills.

Bagoas had been briefed on the uses of quite a few tools during the Deneb trip, so making a manger didn't seem so daunting.

Once he's got two walls built (and all the nails carefully banged into place so nobody's cape or spandex will get snagged), Anders decides there really should be a miniature Pyramid court in the pageant, and builds one out of scrap pieces of wood.

Hey, maybe it could be a Christmas present for one of the characters in the show.

Sawyer bangs together a few pieces of wood and voila, there's an assembled cradle. Joyus day!

Bagoas displays his own manger. "Have two baby Jesus this year?"

"Jesus Christ." he mutters as he takes apart the wood he put together, the other kids looked a bit better anyways. Atleast he tried.

Keep it oriented to the task at hand, please. Not for peanut gallery-ness.

Here's the deal: I'm only running this because we didn't get anybody else to in time. I don't have the time to do it, particularly either. So I'm going to be very hands-off. PLEASE keep the antics to the wacky mishap level.

Oh God, I totally missed this as I wasn't around yesterday :) I suck. Lisa was... eaten by Locker 327? She'll make it up at the next detention, promise. I'll even host it to make up for it. Sorry. Eep.
