Study Hall Friday 12-2

She opens study hall and has crayons, tape, glitter glue, and an assortment of paper if you want to do something besides study or chatter. She is busy coloring pictures of flowers and rainbows and sunshine and ice cream...and any other happy thing she can think of.

Help youself...draw the nice teacher a picture or two.

After Ethics, Phoebe comes into Study Hall looking tired and drawn. She goes to her usual area and starts writing in her notebook.

Buffy comes into the Study Hall and as soon as she sees Phoebe she makes a beeline to her.

Phoebe looked up from her notebook. "Can I help you with something?"

"Angel...leave him alone. I heard you took a swing at him. That's a very bad idea." Buffy doesn't look happy, in fact, she looks more sad than angry.

Phoebe looked at Buffy evenly. "Are you threatening me? Because see, I don't take kindly to threats."

Maia came into the study hall, she smiles when she sees Phoebe but it quickly fades when she sees the look on her face. Walking up next to Buffy Maia glances between the two of them. "Phoebe, are you ok?" She knew Buffy could kick her ass in a second but she'd make sure she at least got a bite or two in before she went down if it came to that.

"Buffy seems to think she should threaten me to stay away from Angel," she said calmly.

Maia looked at Buffy, "I don't think Phoebe needs to be threatened to stay away from a killer." Maia's voice was cold as she stepped between Buffy and Phoebe.

"Angel is NOT a killer," Buffy said in a voice just as cold.

"Then why so interested in keeping me away from him?" Phoebe said calmly.

Maia sizes Buffy up, "Yeah well I think Kitty might have a different opinion about that. There's a lady in town, you know that can talk to dead people. I'm guessing Kitty wouldn't give a fuck if it was Angelus or Angel who killed her. For my money, he's the same no matter what name he decides to call himself this week."

Buffy looks at Maia.

"I was having a private conversation with Phoebe," Buffy said softly. "As for who killed Kitty, Angelus and Angel are twio different people and I don't like him being threatened."

Maia looked Buffy up and down "When you threaten my friend, your conversation is no longer private. I could give Bel a call as well if you'd like, I think you'll find he agrees with me." Maia did not move "And as for them being two different people." Maia looked disgusted "He's still the same vampire with the same past who killed an innocent girl."

"The demon shares his body but not his soul. Angelus is the demon, Angel is the soul." She looked at Maia with an icy glare. "Then tell your friend that the next time she tries to punch Angel she deals with me."

Maia returned the look "I'll do that and perhaps your little soulboy should stay the hell away from Phoebe."

Buffy smirked. "I'm sure Angel has better things to do than talk to your precious Phoebe." She narrows her eyes at Maia. "And maybe you shold learn to mind your own buiness."

Phoebe looked confused. "What the hell is wrong with you, Buffy? All I did was try to hit him. Cole stopped me from connecting."

"I'm just saying, don't do it again." She smiled at Phoebe. "Do we have an understanding?"

Maia raised an eyebrow watching Buffy for a moment and then smiled knowingly at her, she started to actually laugh quietly at first and then a little louder for a moment and then she stopped, her voice low "Phoebe is my buisness and you'll do well to remember that." She gave Buffy a cruel smile "Run along now little Buffy, you might get a loving look or touch from your soul boy. Thats what you pine away for. Go run and catch him." Maia chuckled shaking her head.

Buffy's expression was not friendly when she looked at Maia. "Trying to hurt me little mind-witch?" She leaned her hip on the table as she looked Maia up and down. "You certainly enjoy sticking your nose into everybody's business and telling people what they should do or what you see." Buffy's voice had a hard edge to it. "It's no wonder so many people shy away from you. You don't know when to keep your mouth shut or when to stay out of things." Buffy smiles brightly. "How's Sara these days, Maia?"

At this point, Phoebe stood up, anger in her eyes.

"Leave her alone, Buffy. You came to threaten and warn me."

Maia's eyes for a moment flickered with pain but she pushed it away and they were cold again. "She's good, I'll have to tell her you asked after her. As for people who shy away from me, maybe they shouldn't ask what I see if they don't want the answer."

"And maybe you should try harder not to be such an emotionally bereft pain in the ass?" Buffy smiled sweetly at her. "I've noticed that you have a habit of making friends, sleeping with them, and then chasing them away. It seems the only one who will still stick with you through everything...including threatening Tara...is Trollop Matthews."

Maia shook her head and clicked her tongue "Such horried language from a "Slayer" come now Buffy there is not need for namecalling when those people are not here to defend themselves. Play nice or I won't tell you the answer to that question you've been wanting to know." Maia's eyes danced and her smile was cruel.
