Starting a Small Business

Lorelai sits on her desk, swinging her legs back and forth and eating an apple.

"Okay, gang," she says, once everyone has arrived. "Final projects. We need to figure something out. Obviously you're going to work with your business partner. I'm thinking of a multi-media advertising plan, taking into account everything you've learned about budgets and business plans, but I'm open for suggestions."

[ooc: the mun is totally clueless for a project for this class... but I need something to grade you all on... so suggestions please!]

Callisto knocks on the door before class. "Uh, Professor ~~Rory's Mom~~ Gilmore-Danes, can I talk to you a second?"

"Sure, what's up? You're not one of my students. Are you a friend of Rory's? Is she okay?"

"Oh no, I mean I know Rory, but last time I saw her she was fine." Callisto scratched her neck. "I work for the student paper, we're doing a series of teacher profiles, and I wanted to know if I could interview you."

"You want to interview me?" She shrugs. "Okay, but I'm not very interesting."

"Thanks," Callisto smiles. "Uh, firstly, tell me a little about yourself. Y'know, what you did before you came to Fandom."

"Well, most recently I started an Inn with my best friend, Sookie. I still own it, but I hired a management team when I took this job. Sookie and I worked together at the Independence Inn in Stars Hollow but after it burned down and Old Lady [whose name I can't remember] died, we bought the Dragonfly and restored it. Sookie's an awesome chef. She made me the most beautiful wedding cake for the wedding that I ended up cancelling at the last minute."

"Business owner, cool." Callisto nods. "So, what was it exactly that made you decide to start teaching at Fandom High?"

"Well, Rory was coming here and I decided I wasn't quite ready to cut the apron strings. And my husband was getting fed up with stuff that was going on in our town. He fought with our town selectman all the time cause Taylor was a big jerk. So we all decided we'd like a change of pace. Of course, Luke is still as grumpy as ever but I don't think that'll ever change."

"Is teaching here anything like you expected it to be?"

"The kids seem pretty cool. Well, at least the ones who aren't trying to kill my daughter or blow up my husband's diner. But this town? Is way freakier than Stars Hollow and I did not think that was possible. I mean, how do you top Miss Patty's dance recitals or Babette's gnomes or Kirk running through the town square naked? I guess the answer is with zombies and gremlins and vampires. I wonder if Kirk was bitten by a gremlin when he was a baby. That would really explain a lot."

"Knowing what you do now about Fandom, if you had to make the choice to come here again, would you?"

Lorelai frowns. "I don't know. I want to say yes, but the whole my daughter getting bit by a vampire thing kind of puts a damper on it. But we've had fun too. Like Rory's birthday party when Jaye and Professor Tick tried to make Luke like glitter and Rory's friends gave her that adorable puppy. And the zombie attack night wasn't so bad either aside from the diner getting blown up thing. I threw coffee on the zombies and Rory stabbed me with some big fork thingy."
