Band Practice - Thursday afternoon

Dudes, you've got today and next week to finish practicing. The week after is the big gig day. The classroom will be our venue. There will be a stage set up in here and student dudes and teacher dudes will be invited to come watch. So.. if you look like a total weiner, it's totally your own fault for not practicing enough. Harsh, but true dudes.

Sign in, practice, ask me if you need help. You should probably work out what you're gonna wear. Next week we'll get someone to come in to do the lighting and have a full final practice run.

Remember dudes, you have to show up to get credit for this class. I'll stop by each of the practice rooms today to listen to you practice.

"We've only got two weeks?" she says, eyes wide. "Um, that can't be a good." Switching gears, she looks around the group. "So, costumes anyone?"

Other Lily signs in also. "I've got no ideas for costuming. I just don't think I'd look very good in leather or whatever it is rock bands usually wear."

Lilly wrinkled her nose. "Ew. Leather's for wannabe badasses with an insane case of being too needy for attention. I was thinking something less loserish."

"Less loserish is exactly what we're going for. But how do we accomplish that? And seriously, when are going to get some practice time in? We lost Oz, you know."

Lilly shrugged. "Practice? What is this 'practice' thing? No, really though, we should probably get started. Like, maybe today?"

"Definitely today. With Oz gone, I can pick up a basic guitar pattern, or stick with piano and then we'll have no guitar. And I guess that puts me up for lead vocals? Three people really isn't enough to cover all the necessary parts."

"You'll have to do guitar, Lily. It's not possible to do God Gave Rock 'N Roll To You by KISS without guitar." Lane rubs her forehead as if she has a headache coming on. "Unless maybe Ted would let us pick another song, under the circumstances?"

Ted arrived to check in on the band. He heard the last of the conversation. "Hey dudes. Lily E - you're on piano and lead vocals. Lilly K - you're on bass guitar. It's the bass line, like in those boppy songs I've heard on the radio. You know, dssh dssh dssh dssh. That kind of thing. Lane on drums. It totally blows for you guys that Oz is gone, but I'll fill in on lead guitar. You just gotta tell me how you're playing the song, or you can pick a new, easier song if you think you can learn it good enough by the performance. But don't worry, I'm not gonna grade you down because Oz bailed."
