Study Hall, 11/29

The room is open, and Dream sits in his usual chair. He is trying to seem less intimidating. Really.

Come. Study. Learn.

"What's yours about?" Lee asks, interested.

"Well..." Sam paused, a bit shy about this. It really wasn't her strong point. "It's about a human scientist and the cyborg he created. Naturally, they fall in love," she said, dryly. "But in what I hope is a twist, the cyborg is betrayed by the scientist, who turns out to be a Really Bad Guy."

"Oh, and I forgot the flaming death part. Someone dies one of those, but we haven't figured out who yet. So, stupid, huh?"

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh," Lee says, thinking about the concept, "so the creator is evil... why?"

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"I guess to show that it takes more to be inhuman than just being not...human," she replied, lamely. "But the cyborg was created to lead to civilization's downfall...but the cyborg, in the kind of programming malfunction that always seems to happen in these kinds of situations, is actually more compassionate towards humans than the creator. She feels love, even if the creator doesn't."

"So, it's obviously pro-cyborg, then? I think the teach might like that..." and he grins.

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's a work of fiction," Sam winked. "Of course the cyborg is good. Besides, in that class I could use all the help I can get."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, are you too hard on yourself, then?" Lee says and then bites his lip to choke back a laugh.

Sam scowled, fairly certain that almost no one at school knew about the real relationship between her and Eighth. "Oh, shush, you. It should be fairly obvious that we...don't see eye to eye on most of the topics that are discussed in class."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Lee looks a bit pink. "I ... John and I got to fly her ship a month or so back and as the pilot, she downloaded a crazy amount of information in my brain and I... Yeah, I can see that."

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Alarmed, Sam leaned forward a little towards Lee. She whispered, "Exactly what kind of information did she download into your brain, Adama?"

If Eighth had told Lee the truth, they were going to have to have a serious discussion behind closed doors about it. No one but the SG people knew the real story about Eighth, and only Janet knew all of the details. She certainly didn't want that getting out on the radio.

[*kicks LJ* Still not getting all my notifications, darn it.]

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Lee leans in and whispers back (as this was apparently something to whisper, not casually speak of -- not that he had told anyone), "Well, how to fly the ship, for starters, and then a bit about how her kind work -- how they have to strip a planet of its metals and their penchant for new technologies. Er..." He omits that they went to a planet where the indigenous sand monsters became so enraged by the replicator's actions that they almost were eaten alive. "And the ship had her signature on it as well which was... well, it was yours. And I have a pretty keen imagination added with what she talks about in class..." He looks down and eats another mint. "And John and I know there's something to do with a guy named Fifth..."

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Sam would have marched right into Eighth's office to kick her if she didn't think the Replicator might take revenge by smiting the entire school, if not the planet. And if Eighth wouldn't have sent her straight to the infirmary.

"I need you not to talk about this with anyone, please, Lee? It's important."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
He laughs nervously, remembering when his father let out something classified about the Colonial Fleet and immediately ordered three more drinks to help his sons forget what he just told them.

"I haven't. Really. John and I barely discuss it anymore and I never really did talk about it to Kara..."

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Sam smiled slightly. "Thanks, Lee. It's...really personal. I don't even like thinking about it, really."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"You okay?" Lee says, sensing her unease.
