E-Mail To Abnormal Psych Students
Here's my update on the psych projects. Looking pretty bare here, people. You need ideas? Check out this webpage on experiments. And remember, think positive--no icky connotations of torture, or studying negative emotions like anger or fear. Think happy, guys. But most of all, think 'would an Ethics Board approve this experiment?'
Paige Matthews/Jack Harkness - I need a revised proposal.
Medusa St. Clair/Jonathan Crane - I need a revised proposal.
Broots/Jessica - Your proposal looks good, guys.
Callisto, I told you I'd give you a partner when I'd figured out who had partners and who didn't, but the only guy I know that needs a partner is Jack O'Neill, who's been out sick a while. So why don't you two work together? The rest of you need to get me something by the next class. Which is tomorrow.
In other news, I had a chance to go over Drusilla's homework records. We'll skip on asking anyone to make up that previous class project. Look, while you guys are all starting with a clean slate on your participation grades, I need this homework in. Even if you signed up for the class after the homework was assigned, you need to make up the homework. I've got a listing of what needs to be turned in, and by whom.
Due date for any make-up work is December 13th, folks.
If you've talked to Drusilla about it, sorry, but I don't have a record of that. You're better off just making up the assignment for me. Wednesday, I have some sort of note here about a project you were going to arrange instead of working on all those essays? Come and see me, or drop me an e-mail.
Bagoas, I'm still waiting on your full name for the class roster.
Callisto and Jessica are the only two that came to me about scheduling conflicts. That means I expect to see everyone else in class tomorrow at 1 PM.
I'll be in my office today.

OOC: All replies will be screened because no one else should be seeing the e-mail responses. Give me a holler if you're actually trying to break into Jenny's computer. ETA: Unscreening so people can respond to my responses. Darn my fiendish overthinking of things.

ProfessorMs. Calendar:I would like to be excused from the essay on what I learned about the class exercise. I would be happy to do a extra credit project in its place.
The class project that Professor Drusilla was referring to was one where I spent approximately twenty-four hours violently attacking everyone who got close to me -- up to and including trying to stab Professor Cregg. What I learned from it is that hate really feels like, what it's like to want to commit violence, and murder. The fact that the people I care about were the ones who were in danger from me makes me sick. I'd do just about anything to *not* remember what I learned from the experiment.
The other assignments I will complete by tomorrow's class period.
Sincerely, Jack Harkness

Of course you can do a different project. I don't want to make you do something you're uncomfortable with. How about you pick a famous psychologist and do a 100 word essay on that person's contribution to the field? Sound like a plan?

Jonathan and I will work on a new proposal. Considering the vicious slander going around about him, I don't think our original proposal would be prudent anyway. I will hopefully have a new proposal for you by tonight."

If you're not going to do the original assignment, then you're going to get a zero for the assignment and it will drag down your homework score. That's your choice. While you may have discussed an alternate project with Drusilla, I have no records of that. The assignment was to complete a diagnosis of your former teacher. Now, given that I have essays from that class session which have her notes on them, your objection to saying something behind her back doesn't hold up. Obviously, if you'd done the assignment on time and turned it in, she would have seen it.
I look forward to reviewing your revised proposal. Please ensure that it meeds the wording requirements this time.

Essay:
With this particular subject, I find the definitions of human psychology do not apply. To determine an abnormal psychological condition, there must exist a medium of comparison; i.e., a control. Professor Drusilla is a vampire, not a human. Since I have found no evidence indicating all vampires aren’t soulless, human-shaped bits of destructive chaos, I have no control for determination, and am forced to deduce that Drusilla’s psychological state is normal for her race. Judged by human psychological standards, she would appear to have several abnormalities, but since she isn’t human, she can’t be judged by those standards.

I received your voicemail and would like to note that I have no problems with making up for this work. I never did any of the homework as I never officially signed up for the course. Should I contact Dean Bristow about this?
Kind regards,
Cameron Mitchell

Oh, you have got to be kiddng me! That woman's lack of paperwork is going to drive me insane.
I'll go and make an appointment wtih Dean Bristow and see what he recommends. You've been a big help to me, and I'd like to see that you get credit for your work.

Where should we put the make up work... or should we bring it to class?
no subject
You can either e-mail it in to me here (ooc: just reply to the main post) or bring it to class. Just let me know what homework assignment you're making up.

Re: Abnormal Psych
>> O'Neill, Jack
I was not actually a part of the class exercise and am therefor unsure of what to do with this.
[OOC: Dru-Mun accidently posted that class to her journal and as a result Jack-Mun didn't find out until the next day when everything was already over.]
Re: Abnormal Psych
Don't worry about it. That's the one assignment I'm handing out an alternate essay for. Pick a famous psychologist, and write a 100 word essay on their impact in the field. Suggestions? Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Alfred Adler, B.F. Skinner. There are a bunch of others, of course.

Um, I think I did the quiz. Mine was Bipolar. Which I learned the hardway is not fun at all.
Thanks,
Broots.

I went back and checked my papers, and you're right. You did do the quiz. My bad, you've got credit for it.

I have all done, just not turn in. I afraid of Professor Drusilla. *hands in all missing homework, minus proposal*
I not have partner yet.
((OOC: I do hope that's good enough to at least give him a C for effort? Mun is a little tired, sick, and overwhelmed now. I hate the holidays.))
no subject
I understand that you're stressed and overwhelmed, but you're not too stressed and overwhelmed to write fic with Han's player. You haven't, as far as I know, approached Drusilla IC or OOC with any excuses--if you have, please send me a link. And there's the fact that out of six assignments since September 22nd, you've turned in one.}}

Thanks for making up the homework. I've marked you with credit for it.

Wednesday will be in class whenever it is posted, but I didn't even know there WAS a new psychology professor as clawing through two weeks of posts is like to kill me. It may take me several days, between work, packing etc to make up these assignments.

... sorry, I'm just a bit scattered, atm.
