Study Hall, 11/28

Principal Connor's vacation leaves Dream in charge of study hall, so he unlocks the doors.

Several articles of underwear and a pair of gloves have been strung up at the head of the study hall. Included in the string are: one black bra, a pair of red-and-gold boxers with the Caprica Buccaneers logo, a pair of women's underpants that look like "the unholy bastard child of boxer briefs and a loincloth", a pair of Bugs Bunny boxers and a pair of black gloves. There is no indication of why exactly they are there or to whom they belong.

Shrugging at this, Dream takes a seat with a book and waits for students.

Duce shrugs, sliding into the seat. "Considering recent events, might be prudent to change it anyway."

She smiles, a cheerful, sunny grin that's somehow still very unnerving. Possibly because it's coming from Duce. "We thought .. an experiment in positive reinforcement. What kind of reinforcement and how much would it take to get someone to do something.. silly?"

"What would you doOOOooo for a Klondike bar?" Jonathan asks perfectly straight faced.

"Oh, you know how we loooove a good Klondike bar," Duce answers cheerfully. "We'd do just about anything to sink our teeth into that sweet, sweet, chocolate-and-ice-creamy goodness. But yes. Something along those lines, showing how even positive reinforcement can lead to errant behaviors."

The descriptive imagery is a bit much but in Jonathan's experience, Duce usually doesn't mean anything by it so he let's it go.

"Chocolaty coated ice cream loaded big and thick no room for a stick? You know I'm on board. And I like it, how even the sweetness and the happy can have unfortunate consequences. Have I told you lately how much i love the way you think?"

"Mmmhm. So.. generic hypothesis.. it can be posited that people will do truly stupid things if given the right encouragement or reward. So.. what silly things do we want to have them do, and for what reward?"

Is that a smile? It might be, but it's very small. Shh, don't scare it.

"Small things first, stand on one foot, hop up and down, etc. then moving on to larger things, bark like a dog, do the can-can, read bad Victorian poetry? As for the rewards, treats of some kind? Money? Which do you think would work. And you know, not break us financially speaking."

"We were thinking silly collector type trinkets, or something, with larger incentives later on. In theory, the outcome should lead to some sort of neurotic behavior or other abnormal psychological outlet.. however, the new fluffy bunny huggy teacher would probably frown on that.. so.. hm." Duce thinks for a moment, trying to tie in the fluffy happy bunny ness, "Actually.. she never said it had to do that. Just that we had to come up with a psychological experiment. So.. we vote for the sillyness, light hearted humiliation all in the name of good fun, and not tell them what the fabulous prizes are.. and at the end, see if they think the prize was worth the motive.. maybe.."
