He is piping in Christmas carols in an effort to continue the principal's early manifestation of the holiday spirit.

"Nah, spent most of the weekend in my room," John tells him. "Was kind of busy."

"Ah, too bad, man. It was a pretty good time. If I'd thought about it I'd have brought you back something." Rolling another gumball over to John, Anders asks, "So . . . you're staying over this Thanksgiving break thing too, right?"

"Yep, I'm staying," John says. "Aeryn too. I'd have more fun here then at home anyway."

"Cool." Anders nods. "We can have our own little party, then. Just gotta find someone to cook all the food you said is involved in this thing, 'cause it definitely won't be me. Unless you want to celebrate pain and suffering."

"I know there are several other people staying that might be able to cook. And Lee gave me some recipes that I might be able to follow and don't burn."

He shrugs. "If anything, we order lots of pizzas."

"We should find out," Anders agrees with a nod. "Might be something going on in town, but it'd be kind of nice to do our own thing, you know? If nothing else, I take a crash course in cooking before then, and we can attempt not to burn things together."

"Burn things together and make everyone ill?" John laughs. "Sounds like a plan."

Kara slides in to a seat looking very cheerful for someone who has a midterm due tomorrow. "Hey guys."

"Kara," John says. "Where've you been hiding yourself lately?"

Kara laughs. "I just got sick of seeing your face, John!"

"I love you too, honey." John makes a kissy face. "Lee made me breakfast this morning," he brags.

"How sweet," Kara says, patting his arm. "I'd tell you what Lee did for me last night, but I'm not that kind of girl." She gives him a wink and smacks his arm.

John makes a 'ew' face. "Don't need to know that, thanks. And yeah, I heard you and him were going home for the holiday. Excited?"

Kara gives John a big grin. "Yeah, it should be a good time. Will be nice to see home again."

Anders raises his head up off Cally's shoulder long enough to flash Kara a grin. "Hey Thrace."

"Hey Samuel." Kara gives him a smile. "Did you get my message?"

"Message?" He blinks and rolls a gumball over to her. "Oh man, I haven't even checked my messages since . . . um . . . Friday."

Kara rolls her eyes. "Of course not..." She rolls the gumball around on the table. "You probably didn't check your mailbox either, did you?"

"Mailbox? No . . . why? Oh frak. Did something come in from the CPL?"

Kara tosses the gumball at his head in frustration. "They're coming on December 14th. There's a packet full of information waiting for you."

"The fourteenth?" He smacks himself in the forehead. "Frak, frak, frak, that's less than a month away! Thanks, Thrace, I'll swing by and pick that up on my way out of here."

"Uh huh..." Kara says, shaking her head. "Hope you have the court done, we need to get practicing on that."

"It's done, I just have to haul it out of the shop classroom. Shouldn't be too hard, all the panels are rigged up with wheels and everything. The only thing I'm stuck on is how we're gonna get the lines for the court down without frakking up the gym floor."
