Study Hall, 11/21

The doors to the study hall have been unlocked, and Dream sits inside.

He is piping in Christmas carols in an effort to continue the principal's early manifestation of the holiday spirit.

"Good. Hate to think I was bein' a bad influence, all of a sudden." She reaches up and sruffles the back of his hair. "You go on your run, this morning?"

"Not a bad influence. You're the best influence ever, promise. And yeah, I went on my run. What, you didn't notice I wasn't there when you woke up?" teases Anders.

"I dunno, just worried you might've, maybe, fallen asleep half-way through, or something. You look the teensiest bit extra-tired, that's all."

Anders pokes Cally in the stomach. "Well, that's just silly. Why would I ever have any reason to be extra-tired?"

Cally shrugs and giggles as she is poked. "I'm just crazy this morning, I guess... You got any more gum?"

"For you? Always." Anders fishes a gumball from his pocket and holds it up to her lips.

Cally pulls the gumball into her mouth with her tongue, licking Anders' fingertips. "Thanks," she adds with a wink.

Anders might just be whimpering a little bit. He's definitely scooting his chair closer to Cally's though.

Cally chews her gum, and wraps her arm around Anders' shoulder.

"You know, someday we'll both be in study hall, and actually study. I've got a feeling today is not that day."

"Yeah, I never seem to get any actual studying done in here on the days you're in here with me. Why is that?" He grins and rubs her knee under the table.

"No idea. None," Cally says, reaching down and placing her hand on top of Anders'.

Anders just grins and snuggles a little closer to Cally, and proceeds to get absolutely nothing done during study hall at all.

"Oh frak, coach," Anders blurts out after what Kara had to say to him (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/381033.html?thread=17999465#t17999465). "Don't let me forget to check my mailbox today, okay?"

"Check your mailbox, got it." Cally rubs the back of his hand with her thumb. "Oooh, maybe my Dad got in another package?"

"How many more pieces to go?" asks Anders sleepily, rubbing Cally's knee. "Maybe we can start workin' on it over this break coming up? And yeah . . . Kara says we got mail from the CPL. They're comin' to check us out on the 14th."

"Erm, a few more boxes, I think. Dad's been shipping bigger and bigger crates. Almost out of room in #213." Cally laughs. "Fourteenth, huh? Better step up your training so you can wow those talent scouts."

"Good thing we got your clothes and stuff moved out when we did, huh? Yeah, we're gonna get the court actually moved down to the gym tonight so we can use it." He sighs. "I'm kinda nervous, now."

"What, about the court? You did a great job. It's gonna be perfect!"

Anders nudges Cally's shoulder with his nose. "No, goofball, not the court. The tryout. It's freaky now that I have an actual date to count down to."

"Oh, right." Cally lets out an embarassed laugh. "Well, you're gonna do great with that, too. 'Cause my champ is the best there is."

"Wish I had as much faith in me as you do," he mumbles, snuggling into her shoulder again.

"Well, I'll just have to cheer you on a lot to make sure you're confidence is where it should be. Totally." Cally nods, and rests her cheek against Anders' head, stroking the back of his hair with her hand.

"Cause you're awesome. Completely awesome."

"Love you, coach," Anders says happily, closing his eyes. "You're totally biased here, but thanks."

"Well, yeah. You didn't ask me not to be biased, you know." She turns her head and kisses him on top of the head, before resting her cheek again. "Don't know if I could manage that if I tried, though."

"Same goes for you, y'know. Far as I'm concerned you're the best damn mechanic there ever was or will be." He reaches over and rubs Cally's stomach. "Guess we'll just have to agree that we're totally biased when it comes to each other, huh? Just no way around it . . ."
