Gone fishing

Krycek is in charge until I return, which should happen on or about November 28. If he or Gavin tell you to do something, please do it. This is what Assistants are for, after all.

Krycek, Gavin, I left lesson plans in my quarters. Feel free to amuse yourselves with your classmates the lessons.

The rest of you, please write 100 words on a family member, guardian or commanding officer. Not that this excludes my Assistants from the assignment, it merely forces them to grade them as well.

"You're quitting," she says in a cold, even voice, "taking out your malfunction on Jake. That is exactly what you are quitting, and you are quitting it right now, before you say something you'll regret." Funny, that came out rather like a threat.

She regards his sneer impassively, "What you're doing wrong is dumping your shit all over someone who doesn't deserve that from you. Whatever the hell is going on inside your fucked up little head, you either keep it there or you take it out somewhere else. Not on him."

Krycek smirks humorlessly. "It's nice that you feel that you can be a friend when it suits you and shut everyone out the rest of the time, Duce." He pushes up from the desk to look down at her, his shoulders tight across the back. "Anything else or would you just like to continue being hypocritical?"

Looking up at him as he looms over her, a muscle in her jaw tics. Other muscles tense minutely in an almost uncontrolled response to his attempt at intimidation. "Funny, we seem to recall actually telling you what our problem was without taking the bad mood out on you. But, if you insist.." There's a blur, and her hand is suddenly up, palm across the back of his neck in a gesture that, to anyone not standing under that grip, probably looks like a friendly gesture. "Alex, buddy, let's go have a chat. Outside, do you think? Yeah. We agree. So nice of you to suggest it."

Her thumb is resting just behind his earlobe, at the small juncture where the skull meets the jawbone, and it's pressing in awfully hard. Without waiting for an answer, she turns and begins walking outside. Krycek's choices at the moment are to follow or be pulled forward into what would amount to one spectacular faceplant.
