Deep Thoughts Club meeting [Thursday evening]

Anakin (well, "scuttled" is such an unflattering word) moved stealthily through the halls of the school until he reached the music room classroom.

He scrawled on the board: Life sucks. And then you die. Discuss.

He then slunk into a chair and began working his way through as many of Professor Ted's Twinkies as humanly possible. Maybe he could die through overdose of Yellow No. 5.

Lee signs in and looks pensive.

Signs in, but can't look as broody as other weeks after spending the weekend in Paris.

*Hamlet signs in. He's his usual broody self.*

Angela signs in and is predictably emo. Also predictably redheaded.

Just don't bring up mini-skirts, halter tops or leather bustiers.

Yeah, what was up with that. Sounds like I missed one heck of an interesting evening last night.

"Two words," Anakin said. "Gremlin. Bite." He scowled. "Five, actually. Those little fuckers."

"Sorry I wasn't around to ~~point and laugh~~ help out."

Anakin stared at the floor. "Oh, there were apparently plenty of people ~~pointing and laughing~~ helping out, judging by the radio broadcast last night." He gave a wry smile. "I consider it a personal victory I'm out of the room at all today."

"Well, glad to see you're back to your old self. Oh, and I'm guessing this *isn't information you're planning to share with your master, right?"

"I don't think there's enough 'no' in the universe to express how much of this I'm never, ever, ever mentioning to Obi-Wan."

I wish I knew how to explain how I feel.

Anakin looked at Lee. "In general, or on a particular topic?"

"Can I have a twinkee first?," Lee says meekly.

Anakin looked down at the pile of wrappers he had accumulated. "Sure," he said, tossing an unopened one over towards Lee. "Maybe the sugar'll make us feel better."

Lee takes a bite and hates the cheap confection at once, but, it's a good kind of hate. "Sugar. So, Anakin, I hear things and uh, I just want to know if you're okay."

Anakin looked at the floor. "I'm so far from okay I'm not sure there's a word for it." He barked out a laugh. "But I'll get over it. I mean, what's a whole lot of embarrassment in full view of half the town in the grand scheme of things?"

Lee isn't quite sure what to say to that. "Hey man, if you want to hang out with people who totally missed ~~the show~~ the incident, me and Kara are enough out of the loop that we can't hold anything against you," Lee says kindly.

Anakin gave him a genuine smile. "Thanks. I'll take you up on that." He tried not to sigh. "Now that Padme's gone for a while and all."

"Where's she gone, by the by?"

Anakin shrugged. "Leaving in a hurry normally means big votes in the Senate. I think the Separatists might be ramping up their campaign, which leads to yet another debate about maybe forming a galactic military, which normally ends in yelling and throwing things in the Senate." He bit his lip. "She loves that kind of stuff."

Lee smiles, he knows when a lovesick emo boy is talking about that which he is lovesick over. "Have you sent her a message, just saying hello, thinking of you, bye? I have discovered this is quite a good tactic."

Anakin smiled. "I should. I left her one before I left ~~that was sappy and ridiculous~~ but it never hurts to mention how much I miss her, right?"

Sure, one will eventually die, but that does not mean that you must stop annoying your relatives to do your bidding. Especially when it's inconvenient for them.

Leather bustier? Pray, what did I miss last night?

"Gremlin attack," Anakin replied flatly. "Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants would've loved it."
