For New Students - Overview of
fandomhigh Journalism Courses
Use Proper English or Die.
Course Information
Grading Policy
All right. Anyone can register until class ends on Monday, September 12. This gives some of you terminally late people a chance to sit in on the first actual class and see if this is something that you want to subject themselves to. Combat journalism is closed unless you can give me one hell of a convincing argument.
At midnight Monday, I'm going to give the final list to my Assistant and if you want to transfer into any Journalism class, you're going to have to make one hell of a convincing argument, in writing.
This is also the last call for permission slips. There's still a large stack in the box outside my classroom. These aren't the school forms, which I advise you to procure a large supply and my Assistant will be checking with the Administration to see that you do, but my own slips as drawn up by my lawyer. Sign where indicated, have parent, guardian or (if you're over the age of majority) two adult witnesses sign in the appropriate places and turn them in and then make a note below to confirm. My Assistant will keep track of who has and hasn't turned in their forms and if you expect me to take you so much as a an inch beyond campus boundaries without both sets of forms, it's going to be a long, boring school year.
War zones, coups, bordellos, diaster sites, political conventions, massacres, other planets, inquisitional hearings, whale riding and dinosaur farms are not available to anyone without the appropriate permissions.
... not that I'm guaranteeing as much as a trip to the nearest Long Pig for lunch without a good look at what I have to work with.
Here are the current Homework Assignments - Due Midnight 9/14/05 Late work is not accepted. No submission at all is an automatic boot from my classes and forcible ejection from any class fieldtrip or journalistic madness.
Current Student Roster
Any of my students who have to write for other classes can resubmit homework to me for extra credit as long as it meets the requirements for the homework submission for Journalism 101. That is, an essay of 100 words.
For those of you unclear on exactly what I mean by that, I mean precisely 100 words - no more, no less.

I don't much do the whole school situation. However, if you don't mind a voice from off the beaten path, I'd encourage you to give me a shot. Stirring things up seems to be a specialty of mine. And I can garantee originality and an actual grasp on vocabulary and subject matter... Hopefully people will be able to keep up with the big words.

I'm Phoebe, the Assistant.

I irritate many. I consider it one of my more charming qualities.
Have you considered teaching a class on how to be an asshole? I'm sure you'd do swell.

Hey. Uh.
Don't tell anyone, K? But I'm actually pretty smart. And, well... you seem kinda cool. And, uh. Well, I could use some practice writing... what for faking out the Nietzscheans and what not.
Could come in handy.
So, if the bee-- er, if the Principal approves my application, sir, I'd like to join Journalism 301.
Just, can we tell everyone my Uncle Syd made me do it?

What are the requirements for photojournalism and where would one sign-up for the class? Also, is it possible to take said course if one does not need to participate in the work-study program? Lastly, would it require any permission slips other than those already listed?
no subject
Yes, it is possible to take the course without having it be work study.
No, it requires no additional permission slips, although the Question might require some surety for the equipment.
no subject
Good. I'd like to sign up.
Right. *hands over necessary paperwork*
