I find it distasteful if there is obvious coercion, or if the players involved aren't enjoying themselves, *she clarifies, face heating up.* But I am human, despite theories to the contrary, and enjoy erotica as much as the next person.

He stutters a bit, uncomfortable and trying to swing the conversation back around, "You know, if you're interested in these type of books, you should check out this website (http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com/)," he says, scrawling the URL onto a scrap piece of paper and rising to approach her desk and hand it to her. He shrugs his shoulders, "Death at a convention a few years ago. Although I can't say I minded the research."

I have noticed that the most popular male characters in television, books, or movies seems to be the attractive, reclusive geek. Women everywhere long to have their dorktastic babies. *Is she serious? Anyone's guess.*

"For now, anyway..." he looks a bit sad. "And I would have to dispute that notion completely. I happen to know that the geek hero usually freaks the students out, or annoys them with homework. There isn't really a sexual element to that equation." And I'm not even ON the smut tree!

There's a faint ringing sound in Grissom's ears that might just be his brain exploding.

"Uhh... ummm... Sara," he fumbles in spectacular fashion. He stands in front of her desk still, even drumming his fingertips several times against it.

To a passing stranger he may look calm, but his eyes are petrified. "Oh... oh, sorry. I must have misunderstood. I should go." He turns to grab his briefcase from where he left it next to the desk.

He looks back at her, and slowly smiles. "Good," he murmurs, before breaking out into a grin, "Just to be clear, I am asking you on a date. Food, wine, perhaps some flowering plant life..."

His face quickly falls, "I... have no idea," he admits. "I'm already fucking this up, this must be some kind of world record." And you know the answer to that.

If it were completely smooth sailing, given our record, I'd be suspicious. It's all right. *Thinks for a bit.* We could have dinner here, and go for a walk before it gets too late. This weekend, maybe?

Digging up his last little scrap of impulsive behavior for probably the next ten years, Grissom grabs his things and walks around her desk to stand next to her, leaning over and planting an awkward little kiss on her forehead. "Bye," he mutters as he turns tail and quickly exits.
