301--Theory

Today we're going to discuss non-verbal communication. Body language. It's essential that we know how to read one another because nonverbal communication makes up more of the message than you'd imagine. Words delivered flatly do not pack the same punch as a message accompanied by a physical manifestation of ethos, pathos, and logos.

So today...we play poker. [She passes out decks of cards and chips] Pay attention to the body language of your fellow players. You'll be expected to use this info tomorrow, so you can take notes if you need to. I've got cheat sheets and rules on the tables for those of you who don't know how to play Five Card Draw.

Anya sits down at the table across from Jack. She's excited [smiling and giddy, though looks a little disappointed when she sees the chips and no place to cash in money], though not as excited as she would be if they were playing for real money.

She's got one hell of a poker face though, and she is going to win!

D'anna takes her weird four-sided cards as she scans quickly over the cheat sheet and list of rules. Gathering that this game is similar to Triad back home, she sets the two sheets down on the table next to her and beings to arrange her hand, frowning. "I'm good for now, thanks."

She frowns and grabs a cheat sheet. "It had to be poker..." she sighs.

[Jack examines his hand and then turns it face down on the table. He sits with his hands casually folded just behind his facedown cards, and waits for anyone to ask him for cards.]
