Library, November 15

((Let's see if I can get this in the right place this time...))

Zero is behind the desk, reading Vogue with the air of someone conducting an anthropological survey into an unknown segment of the population.

[The Doctor is a man with a mission. And this time it's not stalking the librarian. Seriously, it isn't. He comes in and leans on the Circ Desk, smiling at Zero.]

Interesting reading, Ms Hopeless-Savage?

[He squints at it and nods.] You know, there's a different version of that magazine for each country you're in. A French one and a British one, and so on. And I assure you that in nine hundred years I never have seemed to understand fashion either.

[Then he stretches a little and looks her in the eye.] I'm in search of a copy of the Book of Kells. Preferably with colour reproduction pages, and plenty of high quality detail. Coffee table book type, but commentary written for intelligent people.

D'you mind if I poke around a bit, try to find it? Might be under religious iconography. Or Irish civilisations. [His look is like that of a very cute puppy.] I promise I won't venture into Special Collections.

[The Doctor smiles at her.] Thanks, Ms Hopeless-Savage. [As he heads to the card catalogue, he turns and glances back.] Adam hasn't come out of Special Collections yet, has he?

[He closes his eyes and sighs.] Right, understand why you wouldn't want to do that. Well, we may still have to mount a rescue mission yet.

[It is obvious from the expression on his face that the Doctor is picturing a cat version of Methos. He looks some combination of horrified and ridiculously amused.] Wonder what breed...never mind. If you don't hear from him in a day or so, please let me know.

[Now the look on his face indicates that he is probably planning something with swords.]

[Zero gets a flash of a real, honest grin before he turns serious again.] Right, thank you, Ms Hopeless-Savage. Now...for that book... [And he heads to the card catalogue, thinking aloud, under his breath.]

[[And are you making HIM apologize first? I thought not. Rank discrimination!]]

[[ooc: Just an ongoing entry in my best-selling series, "Why are the librarians so mean to poor, poor pitiful me?" Preorder now at Amazon.]]

((Huh? I have nothing to apologise for, always been polite to the library staff.))

((I brought Janet some chocolate covered strawberries as a bribe once.))
