Student Council Meeting, Monday, November 14, 2005

Phoebe opened up the room and set up tables and refreshments for the meeting this week. She had a lot of things on her mind. She closed the blinds a little and sighed in relief as the sun didn't blind her any longer.

"It's been suggested that a class trip would be a good idea, for the honor society members, or the language club members, to some location out of the country. Thoughts? Suggestions? Would this even be possible, given the multiplicity of the student body's origins? How do we get a visa for someone from outer space?" Parker is tapping a pen on her pad, thinking hard.

Elizabeth looks thoughtful. "Well, I would presume that those from outer space would have some sort of paperwork that actually lets them on Earth/in the country," she says, frowning slightly. "Does the school have any way of translating those back into something we could use?

Maybe if we can't go out of country, we could at least get people to see other parts of the US? DC could be done in a day trip; obviously, not seeing all of it, but at least getting there. Show those not from this planet that Earth isn't all weird little islands with giant squids and gremlins?"

"If they can only stay in the country, D.C. is a good start. DisneyWorld. New York City. Although, I'm not sure how some of them would react to the more bizarre places..." Parker rolls her eyes. "What am I saying? They were attacked by zombies while here on the island. Anything else is easy."

She wrote down some of this, and then said, "Which teachers are most likely to be willing to help with this? To be chaperones for a multi-day trip?"

"I don't know; Disney World could get a little scary," Elizabeth grins. "Although I suddenly have a desire to see Barbossa on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in the Magic Kingdom..."

"Uh, off the top of my head... CJ, ah, Professor Cregg? Dr. Jackson, probably." She drops her voice and whispers to Parker. "I'm trying to think of the ones that won't attract too much attention in normal society."

"Good plan," Parker muttered back. "Maybe Dr. Eppes? Or Professor Sidle or Grissom?"

"I would pay good money to anyone who got Barbossa onto the Pirates ride. Or got Kara Thrace onto 'It's a Small World.' Mythological planet, ha. No one could take Earth seriously after that."

Elizabeth nodded. "They all seem relatively normal," she said.

She giggled. "Oh, God, what about Aeryn on... well, actually just in Disney is enough to make you go "huh"?"
