[For Belthazor] Date Night...Or Something Like That

Evelyn was nervous and extremely skittish.

She had plans with Belthazor for the night and she wasn't sure what appropriate wear was for one of these things. Luckily for her, different female students had contributed things to her outfit for the night. Now, standing in front of her mirror, all she could say was that she hoped he would like it.

"That sounds wonderful," Evie said with a relieved smile.

He searched his memories for what movies were playing. "March of the Penguins" was not an option. He didn't think he could stomach a romantic comedy or some chick flick. A horror movie though, now that might be the thing. Nothing too bloody (much as that might appeal to him personally), but just enough to make her want to cling to him. "How about 'The Skeleton Key,' what do you think of that?"

Evelyn had no idea what that movie was supposed to be about, but since he was suggesting it, she suddenly wanted to see it.

"That definitely sounds intriguing."

"It's a thriller," he explained. "Something about voodoo and the occult. That okay?"

Evelyn's lips twitched. She realized that he had no idea where she had come from or what she studied so she smiled and nodded.

"I think it should be okay."

"Then let's go," he said, stepping out of the doorway and into the hall. He saw her suppressing a laugh and added, "Something funny?"

Evelyn shook her head. "You would never believe me."

He chuckled. "You might be surprised. I have a very open mind."

"Do you believe in curses?"

"Curses? Sure. What kind did you have in mind?"

"Magical curses?"

Intriguing. Was this one a witch, too? He'd better watch himself or Raynor would think he was developing a taste for them.

"Yeah, magical. You gonna put one on me or something?" he teased.

Evelyn smiled softly and shook her head. "I don't have any power like that. I study them and their effects or their legends. I don't levy them." She tilted her head. "Although...the ability to use curses would be very interesting."

Interesting indeed. "You'll have to tell me more over dinner," he said. "Any preference for what kind of food?"

Evelyn looked at him for a long moment. "You're sure you wouldn't be bored listening to me talk about such a thing?" When asked what kind of food she was in the mood for, she smiled. "I don't suppose there are any Egyptian eateries around her," she asked wistfully. "I find that I'm missing my home a little."

Belthazor decided shimmering was the best. power. ever. when it came to getting girls. "Egyptian, huh? I don't think there's one in town, but there's one if you want to go all the way to the city," he said. He'd save Egypt itself for when he really wanted to impress her.

He smiled at her. "You don't bore me. I find you very interesting." And if she knew anything especially interesting that he could pass on to Raynor, so much the better.
