Library - 11/11

The library is open. Zero is the only one manning it, so due to class constraints it may be found empty at some times. When she is there, she can be found reading up on contract law behind the Collections Desk.

"What are you, Marcel Marceau? Wow. An artistic side. And I thought you were just a dumb jock. Learn something new every. Single. Day," Parker said, voice bored. "Title. Author. Subject. And quit wasting my time."

"Don't know, don't know, anything vaguely resembling a census on vampire and demonic life anywhere, though wouldn't hate it if it was my home dimension."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker was visibly floored at that. "A what? Are you serious?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Would I be coming here to voluntarily talk to you if I wasn't?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker sneered. "If you thought it was amusing? Yes." She shrugged. "I can't help you. The books you want would probably be in Special Collections. You need a note from a teacher for your project, you'd have to read them here, and they can't be the ones with black stickers. Go away."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really? For just numbers?" Angelus looked surprised. "Okay, what kind of note?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker gritted her teeth. "For anything in Special Collections, old, mystical, protected. Yes. And a note from whoever is approving this 'project'," she made air quotes around the word, "For every time you come in here. New note." She sighed. "*Now* will you go away?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Parkie, I'm hurt," he put a hand over his heart. "You somehow suspect that I'm here on some kind of mission that isn't school related? And that, if I was, I'd be dumb enogh to flat-out tell you about it?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"In your case, dumb equals arrogant, and you have so much arrogant it drowns what smarts you have in a sticky pool of ego. Yes." She smiled sweetly. "Good-bye. Door's behind you. Use it."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm feeling discriminated against," Angelus replied. "I'm hurt. I'm wounded. I'm possibly telling the admin how you're overstepping your bounds. But cheer up. Who knows what may occur? It is entirely possible that right now you're thwarting my attempt to raise a demonic army to take over every dimension known and unknown. I could be doing that you know. I do have ambition."

Angelus smiled, geniunely happy to see Zero. "Hey, Zero. I need the rules on notes for Special Collections. I'm doing a project for Professor Epps and he needs me to look at some books that you guys are keeping in there."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good to know," Angelus jotted all that down in his notebook. "Any way I can look at a card catalogue or something? Prof. Epps just asked me to try to find any census material on vampires, ideally in my home dimension. No idea what title that'd be under."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-12 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Excellent," Angelus gave her a big smile. "Thanks, Zero. I'll go bug Prof Epps and get back to you when I get the note. Not this weekend, though. Who the hell wants to do schoolwork on Saturday and Sunday?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-12 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Shows how often I come in here," he looked around. "Something wrong with the Prof?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-12 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Gotcha," Angelus folded his notes up into his backpack. "Thanks for the help. Am I going to see you later at the fashion show?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker just barely avoided snarling, the dream (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mparker16/15946.html#cutid1) from the night before giving her chills again. "Cuuuute. I'll wound *you*, if you keep this up. Feel free to tell them anything you damn well want, this time I'm playing by the rules. Get out of my face. Now."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm playing by the rules too," Angelus replied, holding his hands up innocently. Only Parker could see the glint of devlish amusement in his eyes. "You'd be amazed at how much I can get done that way."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"No. I wouldn't." She let her face go stony, and her voice went monotone, not looking at Zero, still trying to help. "Go. Away. FAR away. Stay there. Don't come back."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Anything to make you happy, Parkie," he winked at her. "I'll come back with one of those notes."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker gritted her teeth, and managed -- just barely -- not to respond. Make *me* happy? Die, then.
