Welcome to class everyone. I hope you brought your little darlings to class today. I brought cookies for you to enjoy.

I'd like you each to share who you found to babysit for your egg baby, what you assembled to provide for them, and what you took away from the experience.

Before you go, I'd like to give you your next assignment. I have managed to gather 7 pregnancy vests, one for each of you.

This weekend, I would like each of you (yes, you too Boone) to wear the vest for three daylight hours in a row, in public. On the town, in the dorms, or on campus. Now that you know what it would be like to care for something 24 hours a day, I would like you to get a glimpse into what it would be like to be a dirty, sinning tramp teenaged mother.

Please come to class ready to discuss how people reacted to you, and how you felt.

Wednesday came into class with her basket in one hand, children's books under her arm. Placing Hyde carefully on her desk, she brought Mrs. Van de Kamp a two (http://www.livejournal.com/users/addams_daughter/4965.html) page (http://www.livejournal.com/users/addams_daughter/5286.html) report on her experiences with her egg.

"Mrs. Van de Kamp, I'd like to experiment further," she said, frowning a little. "I've been having some difficulties with Food Preservation and while I intend to continue with it," she placed a small jar of pureed carniverous vine on the desk as an example, "I think that I might try to do a project on parenting, instead."

Bree looks at Wednesday's look with a wide grin. "This is very impressive, dear. You've done a wonderful job with this assignment," she pauses, looking at the small jar.

"Well, food preservation is certainly not easy," she says with a fake smile. "A project on parenting is a lovely idea. I'll be handing out the final guidelines for the project next week, so if you would like to explore the idea in more depth over the weekend that would be excellent."

"I should very much enjoy the opportunity," Wednesday assured her gravely. "Thank you, Mrs. Van de Kamp." She paused for a moment. "Might I request a letter from you explaining this weekend's assignment that I may forward to my parents? I should not like to have my father show up on my doorstep demanding an explanation... unless that would count toward extra-credit."

"Oh no, your father is a lovely man. I met him at your Halloween Ball; I wouldn't want to upset him unnecessarily. I'll type up a letter and send it over to the Manor later today."

"Thank you," Wednesday retreived Hyde's basket and gently adjusted the tiny bunny ears of its sleeper. "I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to explore some of these projects. It has been very educational."

"Ms Van Der Kamp, erm considering the circumstances and well my reputation around here I'd really rather not do this, is there another option at all?" Paige asks looking seriously worried by the assignment

"Well dear, that is why it is important for you to do the assignment! Every action has its consequence, and although the embarrassment of your little scandal seems all-consuming now, eventually it will fade. A baby, however, doesn't present you with the same opportunity for eventual freedom."

She gives Paige a strange look, somewhere between comfort and condemnation.

Paige looks at the teacher "While I appreciate the sentiment Mrs Van Der Kamp and know I've been stupid lately I assure you I'm not stupid enough to get pregnant cos OMG Lancelot would get so jealous I'll do the assignment though."

((cool will see how I feel about but yes a report will be handed in))

"Well, if you really are uncomfortable, I will allow you to convince two of your friends to wear the vest for three hours each, and write a short paper contrasting and comparing their experiences. They can be male or female, but it really should be two, considering everyone else in class must wear the vest themselves. Okay? Or you can complete the assignment as given. Your choice."

Paige smirks for a moment at the thought of Sawyer wearing the vest, but knows he'd kill her just for suggesting it to him.

"Thank you very much, I will try to do the assignment myself, but the option is very much appreciated."

Maia stood up:



"My egg was named Carmen. Paige and I decided that we would like our children, her little egg Fred and my darling Carmen to grow up in a household of love so we decided to be co-parents together and give our children a happy outlook on life." Maia glances at Paige trying to keep from laughing. "We shared all the duties of child rearing and came to the conclusion that it is very hard to care for an egg alone but it is possible." Maia bites her lip for a moment thinking "Also I think that I will always remember this experience in sickness and in health." Maia grinned at Paige now, the urge to laugh almost painful.

Paige looks at Maia biting hard on her lip before going through her bag looking for the piece she wrote, which was much less entertaining

Maia leans forward towards Paige and winks "Follow that killer" Maia sits back with her eyebrow raised and smirking.



((ooc: "follow that killer" is a joke based out of the Great Balls of Fire movie after Jerry Lee sets fire to the piano and looks at Chuck Berry who is about to go on stage and says "Follow that killer" Killer was one of Chuck Berry's nicknames and then became one of Jerry Lee Lewis' as well. IT IS A JOKE I REPEAT A JOKE!! and is LOCKED to Paige's ear only))

Paige laughs slightly before presenting her assigment

"As part of the egg assignment Maia and I decided we would try our hand at co-parenting (owing to non class related issues and because we believed it would add an interesting dimension to the project) we looked after the eggs (Carmen and Fred) between us during most of the first day. Then Maia baby sat when I went to town and I baby sat for Carmen during the evening

As part of the egg care I made a make shift cage, to protect the egg from my kitten, from bendy straws and a carry cot /bed out of a small box which I packed with cotton wool to keep Fred safe during classes and while he was carried around. I changed the cotton wool every night to keep it and Fred and Carman nice and clean and we took it in turns to check on the eggs at least once an hour"

Boone was slumped in his chair, staring at his egg, which had been named Ei and wrapped in about seven layers of bubble wrap. And kept in a box of packing peanuts. He wasn't really about to take chances.

Sakura wandered in and set Naomi down in a sort of carrying case she'd rigged up with some scraps of fabric laying around her dorm room. Where they'd come from, she wasn't sure, and frankly wasn't planning on asking.

After settling herself and her things, Sakura wandered up to Mrs. Van De Kamp's desk and set down a short report on her time spent with the eggbaby. She pondered the next assignment and laughed to herself, idly wondering what people would think. She didn't know anyone at the school very well, so she supposed their opinions of her because of a Home Ec project really didn't matter much.

"So do we just need to wear the vest for one day, then?" She asked, unsure.

Piper wanders into class with her egg baby. The egg is sitting protectively in a basket. She hands in a report about the experience of caring for the egg.

She is not happy about the next assignment.

Allie smiles as she enters the room, carrying Lola still snuggled in the cotton padded box.

She writes the following paper:

My boyfriend, Logan, watched Lola for me last night while I ran on the treadmill and showered last night. He was equipped with the padded box I made for her and was instructed to make sure she was safe. I think the experience of caring for a baby, even though it was an egg, brought us closer together.

Allie cringes at the thought of wearing the pregnancy vest, as she is certain Logan will have a field day with it.
