Beka covers her mouth with her hand to hide a smile. If she giggled, which she doesn't, she'd be giggling hysterically.

"I'm sorry," she said, finally breaking the day's silence, holding her Flexis between thumb and forefinger. "I'm from 3500 years in the future. Maybe we translated that document?"

Beka scrolled around in her Flexis until she found the 'dead languages' codex. She cocked her head to look where Wesley was pointing and tried to match it to the words on her screen.

"It might help if I knew the alphabet, or at least where that first glyph falls in the order." She continued her search, narrowing it by skipping entire blocks based on the first glyph. After a few minutes, she smiled, pleased: "Does that look right?"

She pointed to the screen by the matching glyph. "If so, the Commonweath translation is 'payback' or 'againpay'. Maybe 'repay' in standard English?"

He looks at his watch. "Oh, dear, I'm late for the Safe Walk meeting. Thanks so much, Miss ... ?" He realizes he doesn't know her last name, and looks at her hopefully.
