Language Classes, 11/08

Hello.

Today is a test day for Languages of Europe and Cat students alike. Both tests will consist of a short vocabulary portion, a translation, and a five-minute dialogue with me in the appropriate tongue. For Languages of Europe, that means Spanish; for Cat, the translation will be based on the video now cued up in the VCR.

Please let me know if you have questions.

[OOC: Slowplay on this. Post that you handed in the written test and how well you did and that you're approaching Dream for the dialogue. I know a tiny bit of Spanish and Babelfish is my friend, so if you want to actually hold the conversation in Spanish, I can do that, though there's no penalty if you just choose to use the //slashes of speaking another language//. Finally -- anyone who does not complete a midterm dialogue within the next week will be given detention.]

6 takes the test and does more acceptably than he'd like. Despite his best efforts, he probably scores in the B/B- range, depending on how anal Professor Dream gets about capitalization.

6 walks up to Professor Dream.

//This is all rather silly.//

Rogue does decent on the test, scoring her somewhere in the B+ range. She approaches Dream for the written portion.

//Hello Professor// she says with a small smile. She has an almost unnoticable accent.

Parker takes the test, getting around an A- only because she forgets the passive voice on two verbs. She turns it in, then approaches Dream.

Buenos dias, Professor Dream. Como esta usted hoy?

//Good morning, Professor Dream. How are you today?//

Rory takes the written test, sticking the tip of her tongue out in concentration, and likely gets a fairly solid A.

She approaches Dream's desk.

//Hello, Professor. How was your weekend?//

Lisa looks as if she might pop something while taking the test, but does well, with only a few small errors. (A-)

She passes in her exam and approaches Dream.

//Professor, I am ready for the Oral Exam if that's okay.//

Piper takes the test and most likely scores a B+. She then approaches Dream.

//Hello, Professor. How are you today?//

[ooc: Is it okay if I finish this tomorrow? I won't be online again until then.]

*Hamlet takes the test and does fairly well, but only scores around a B+, as he spent part of the night trying to get German verb forms right. He sighs and prepares for the oral part of the test. He mixes up a couple of his vocab words.*

//In life road, does this test really matter so much?//

[OOC: Done in English, because mun speaks French, but not a word of Spanish. Well, except for food names, but you can't make conversation out of just that.]

Paige walks in looking both embarressed and worried.

She takes the written test and does very well, then hands it in to Dream ready to take part in the conversation

Hank completes the written portion of the test, correctly answering every question. He then turns it over to Professor Dream and awaits transformation and the oral examination.
