John signs in, gets his new toy, and loads it up with a huge shitcheese eating grin.

Oh, Gremlins, how I love to shoot thee so.


John fired the first clip, in under 3 seconds. Oh, this thing was sweet. Tight grouping, everything just to the left and low of center, well within what would be the first two rings and he hadn't even been aiming properly.

He swapped clips, and shot more slowly, trying to calibrate the aim, fiddling with the sights between every 3 shots.

Parker made a note of John's shooting, then came over when he had a break.

"Hey, do you think your mom would mind if we held the gun club off-campus next week? There's a place in town that I want to show to the newbies."

"Prob'ly not. Where are you thinking of?"

He examined the M6D as he waited for her response.

"There's a new place, Blood Gulch Arms. The owner seems to know a lot, and I was thinking that a trip to at least give people an idea of the costs of maintaining a weapon would be smart. Not to mention the paperwork. And I believe there's a shooting gallery at least, I have to check with Red and find out if that's okay in town too. Ours is kind of small, you might have noticed."

"Yeah, and I think her's is better armored. Or so I hear. I think it'd be a welcome field trip. When?"

"Next week? I need to get approvals all around, but I was thinking a little earlier on Friday, say around noon?"

Also, Parker is realizing she needs to get a moving gallery set up. With, possibly, little alien targets. And snakes. And maybe robots.

"That sounds good. I'll have to check my schedule. You're not thinking about just paper targets or bowling pins, are you?"

"No, I think we need something with moving parts. Way too many of our members are beyond the stationary target stage." She frowns. "Maybe if I talk to the shop teacher, he can put something together? I know he's not in favor of guns, but this is hopefully to help people retain their skills with them, not just for fun."

"Say it's for slingshot practice or something. Don't say 'gun'. Suggest archery. That might motivate him."

Just re-reading everything, and I/John would SO welcome a 3 way shoot-off between Wraithbait and Carter_I_am for the prize.

Is this still slowplayed? or should we bring this up at the next gun club meeting?
