Language Classes, 11/03

Dream is calmer today than he has been, but it would be a mistake to assume that meant he was in a good mood.

Cat class: Professor Jerusalem and his cat are being kind enough to pay us a visit today. After you transform, feel free to converse with the cat. You may find her interesting.

Languages of Europe: Pair up and review your Spanish vocabulary. You will have a discussion midterm with me on Tuesday.

If any of you wish to talk with me about the death of Miss Pryde, I am here. I am sorry that such things could happen at this school.

Transform and talk to Spider's cat here.

Spider's cat is brought into the classroom by Professor Jerusalem, set on the floor and promptly abandoned by Spider. As Spider finds himself a seat to slouch in, the cat looks around with a decided air of possessiveness and begins to explore the room.

After changing into a Russian Blue (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=bluemanoncampus), as usual, Hank politely ignores The Cat and starts washing his face.

After her first conversation, the cat turned her attention to the aloof Russian Blue. Circling around him, she chose a comfortable place to sit without making eye contact. After several minutes, she asked, "Are you also a cat-in-form-only?"

Hank flicks an ear in acknowledgement of the cat's question and waits a few seconds before langorously stretching out and curling into a comfortable position which "coinicidentally" happens to offer him a good view of the cat. Not that he would be so gauche as to make eye contact, of course.

"Yes, I am usually not a cat. However, my regular form possesses traits of both human and feline."

Yawning, as if the answer is of no import to him, Hank then asks, "I was unaware that cats with two faces existed in this realm. Are they common in yours?"

Paige walks in yawning, the nightmares weren't as bad last night, at least she'd not woken Saywer again.

She transforms into a black cat and goes over to speak with Spider's cat

Michael transforms into a cat and approaches Jerusalem's cat warily. "Greetings, honored guest," he says in accented Cat.

The cat regards him suspiciously for a minute. When she spoke, it was only with the mouth closest to his. "What sort of cat are you?"

"I am a person in the shape of a cat. Professor Dream transforms so that we may better learn to speak Cat."

"I am a person in the shape of a cat as well," she told him, turning to look at him with both faces. "Why do you need to learn how to speak?"

"I suppose I don't *need* to learn how to speak Cat, but I thought it would be interesting to be able to understand cats."

"I see. Do you catch things like that?" she asked him, circling him once and eyeing him suspiciously. "I didn't know they still made cats with only one face."

"I can't say I've ever really tried to catch anything. Except my tail," Michael said looking at it balefully. "It twitches and I can't seem to stop myself from chasing it. As for cats, where I come from, all that I have met until you today have only had one face."

*Enters the room, transforms to cat form, and settles down, staring at Professor Jerusalem's cat. Well, she supposes if she can be pink, Professor Jerusalem's cat can have two heads.*

Rogue signs in and tries to study.

Parker is very tired of being nice to people this week. But Rogue actually knew Kitty better than most, so... "I'm sorry about your roommate."

Rogue looks up at Parker. "I...I appreciate that."

Shrugging uncomfortably, Parker says, "If you need anything, or to talk... let me know."

Rogue swallows and gives Parker a tight smile. "Thanks."

"Sure." Parker nods and goes back to her Spanish.

Parker signs in, cracks her neck, and attempts to study.

Lisa signs in, purposefully hanging out in the back of the classroom as she is behind on her vocabulary.

Piper signs in and glances at Rogue sympathetically.

*Hamlet signs in and starts to study. He wonders if the other European languages they've looked so far at will be on the test as well. His German still isn't that great.*
