Cookery class is open again

The professor is clearly distracted, with something on his mind.

Oh, look, um ...

He throws a book onto the table. It's a French cookbook.

Well, ...

There are croaks from under the table. Angry croaks.

Yes, okay. Cookery class is open. And ... um ... French cooking is forbidden.

The grin is infectious. Han pops the pan of baklava into the oven and starts on the stir-fry he'll be having for lunch.

"I know better now. I understand a lot more than I did even two weeks ago. And now that I know what he wants and why he wants it, I can handle it."

He checks the rice and dumps the shredded meat and vegetables into one of the woks. "So where have you been keeping yourself? You missed the big party at the Efferton place too."

Turning back to his dish, Hank crumbles some feta cheese over the full salad bowl, then softly curses under his breath and puts it all into the refridgerator. He then pulls the final objects out of his bag: a small bottle of extra-virgin olive oil, a small bottle of red wine vinegar and a container of dried basil.

"I've been hiding out in my room, mainly. Since Locker 327 returned me, the sheer mass of people at the school occasionally overwhelms me a trifle and I need to retreat. Parents Weekend was just a tad too much."

The last part of the sentence is muffled as Hank rummages in the cabinets and finally finds an appropriately sized bowl before making the oil-and-vinegar dressing for the salad.

"However, I did hear about the Efferton party and I'm reasonably sure that I'm glad I missed it. By all accounts, it was rather wild, even for Fandom."

"Everyone needs a break sometimes, Big Blue. You want some stir-fry? The party was something. Weird music, lots of costumes, a creepy butler, moving statues, and kids singing...in Old Corellian."

He gives the wok a stir that's a little too hard,

"We had a good time, though. My costume got destroyed, so Bagoas dressed me to match him. Greek god and goddess."
