This week, Electroclash was actually there when the students filed in. Progress! She still didn't look like this was her favourite place in the world to be, but then you shouldn't expect too much of a good thing, anyway.

"Okay, my name's Electroclash," she drawled, once everyone was settled. "I can control machines, and I'm apparently teaching this class on superheroics." Eyeroll. "No one bothered to tell me this was supposed to start last week, so... sorry about that, or something. Anyway, this Kaplan kid – who's my new sidekick for the class as of right now – took some notes about you." She waved a ~~handwavily acquired and horribly modded~~ paper at them, then looked down at it. "Not that it was that much good 'coz I'm only interested in your cape names, and you insisted on giving your civilian ones. But I took the liberty of renaming you!" She smirked at them, smugly, as she retrieved another piece of paper, then called out each of their names in turn, and told them their new aliases. Which were non-negotiable as far as she was concerned, though you were welcome to try.

With a few unnamed people left, Electroclash trailed off. "And then ~~not everyone did IC introductions~~ I got bored reading this thing, so the last few names are to be announced." Actually, there was probably just the one. "Right. The SPA tells me today's topic is costumes and gimmicks. It's pretty simple. I give you a bunch of bright spandex and you design yourselves costumes, which you'll be wearing for the rest of the course." Or not. She was fickle. "Design shit and the Flying Sycophant will get the actual costumes for you for next week. And if you don't have a superpower that gives you an obvious gimmick, you might wanna think about that, too."

She didn't really care, just flopped down into the chair behind the desk, gesturing at a few boxes of fabric nearby. "Well, up and at it, kids, you haven't got all day."

And Lex was regretting his quip about his hair last week. Though 'Invisihair' had more of a ring to it than some of the others, albeit the kind of ring you'd get in an advertising jingle.

Luke had no idea who Excelsor was or why he was apparently his son but he wasn't going to complain about it. It could've been worse.

Stephanie stuck her tongue out at her capename. Really, "Average Girl?"

Well, at least it was better than "Mediocre Girl" or "Always-Screws-Things-Up Girl," she guessed . . .

"I think we're supposed to be a duo."

"As long as this doesn't imply you get to be the hero and I have to be the sidekick," Stephanie said, eyeing him, "I have no problem with this as a working plan."

Well, there went his plans of a theme song. "Partners?"

"That," Stephanie said, "is entirely acceptable."

Come on, there had to be some kind of theme song for that.

Tony just nodded, offering her a handshake. All professional like.

Stephanie reached out to shake his hand. "Are we going to have to draw up contracts, o superheroing partner?"

"I think a verbal agreement would work for now," Tony assured her.

"Fine with me. Paperwork is bo-ring anyway," Stephanie agreed.

This was why being a vigilante was nice. You got to do all the head-cracking and then leave the cops to file the reports afterward.

"So, should we be offended or happy that we seem to be considered heroic by the teacher?"

"Can we go with perplexed?" Stephanie shrugged. "Because really, us?"

Ha ha.

"Totally weird, I know!" Oh, you two.

THEY WERE SO SUBTLE.

"Ooooh," Stephanie said suddenly. "Should we have a secret handshake?"

"Well, as long as you don't tell Rhodey," Tony replied. "He might get jealous."

As superhero names went... Kate's could've been worse. She could work with it, provided she didn't have to use if after she left this room where everyone was saddled with one.

Some of the others? They earned a smirk.

Wonderful. A stupid nickname.

Squall shrugged.

Billy had turned bright red, and was sinking lower and lower in his seat the more she talked, trying to hide until he heard his new nickname and gasped. He'd just been trying to help!

'Flamemover'. Elphaba looked at that one and shrugged. It was a lot better than 'Flying Sycophant'. She was half wondering if she could get away with somehow switching her name with Karla's...

"Don't even try it," Karla hissed, catching the gist of Elphie's though. "Mine."

Raven ordinarily would not defy a teacher, but Emotion Taxi? No.

Goose figured he could at least work with the name he had been given and really, it could have been worse.

Sam...thought it could have been worse for him so he wasn't gonna object to being called Ghost Hotline. He just hoped no one thought he was a psychic.
