Bringing Literature To Life--Through Violence! [Tuesday, Second Period]

The island that the Danger Shop was configured to look like was... probably not very much like the one from the book they'd discussed last week. The first hint the students might have of this fact was the giant water slide. Or, really, the entire water park that they were standing in front of.

"Welcome to a remote deserted island," Max said by way of introduction. "Today you're all going to to understand the breakdown of society in the face of isolation in a harsh environment." He even managed to say that with a straight face.

"The locker rooms are stocked with appropriate attire for your harrowing ordeal," Max said, indicating the two buildings nearest them. "So get changed and get to experiencing."

And anyone who accused Max of changing his lesson plan to try to provide some distraction from current events would get a look. Because that totally wasn't what he was doing.

At all.

Even if he was wearing swim trunks instead of his usual jeans.

Squall was kind of disappointed with the water park. Survival training on a deserted island would have been fun.

Marshall? Was maybe throwing himself into the water park with somewhat reckless abandon.

Hey, if they were going to be given the opportunity to distract themselves, at least for a little while, he was going to distract himself as thoroughly as posisble.

Cindy was planning on spending the hour soaking in the sun. Because the creepy weather wasn't helping her mood, the one that had soured drastically with every Your call cannot be completed as dialed... response when she'd called people back home.

At this point, she was even hoping to talk to her first ex-husband! Fortunately, though, she was used to being disappointed by him.

"Of course I do," Cindy said, lounging backwards. "After all, I know what I look like in a bathing suit."

Banter was her favorite.
