Don't Be Evil [Friday, Second Period]
When Oz's class made it to the Danger Shop, they would have found a large, possibly confusing, range of various and sundry everyday appliances, gadgets, and the like spread out across the desks, along with several sets of Phillips-head screwdrivers.
"Morning, kids," Oz greeted them. "Now I know there's some weirdness going on, but we're going to try and take our minds off that today, and I've found that there are few things more soothing when you're stressed than tinkering, so that's what we're going to be doing today. Pick a gadget or two, find a partner, take your screwdriver, and take those suckers apart to see what's inside."
He'd let them discover the answer was inevitably going to be 'a bomb' in their own time. It'd take their minds off things quickly enough.

But this had not been the first Oz class he'd ever been in. So of course he expected the answer to be 'a bomb'.
If it wasn't, Peter was probably only going to be more disturbed. That would just be going against the natural order of things.
Tinker! - DBE [13]
[There are walkthroughs for each of the games here, and triggering the bomb to go off will to a noticeable, yet harmless explosion, and whatever you're working on to reset to right before you started the countdown]

wasn't able to access the links from workgrabbed a random object and a screw driver, then began chipping away at the casing as though she was using a crowbar. She inevitably set off the bombs inside. Possibly on purpose.

But mostly it meant she kept her mind off Hayley for an entire class period.
