Combined Reserves, Thursday After Classes
Today's Reserves had been handwavily told to meet in a classroom, where they would find an array of medical supplies set up on a table at the front of the room. Even better, because an argument had been made for fake medical supplies requiring a sanitary environment, there were no cookies. Rejoice!
"Hello," Wesley greeted everyone once they'd arrived. "Today we're like to work on first-aid. Depending on your individual experience, it may be something that you can perform by hand or by magic, or perhaps not at all, and we feel that everyone should be equipped with some basic medical skills in the event of an invasion."
Dolf nodded, looking serious. "Of course, treating the big wounds is going to be hard," he said, "But doing a little bandaging up front can save a lot. If you don't have magic-- remember not to move someone who's hurt unless you have to. Put them in a stable position if they broke anything - we'll show you how. As well as the bandaging part." Even if he hadn't done so much of this back in the 13th century, he'd been to enough first aid lessons in the reserves by now to know how it works. "If you've done this before, it's also always good to have a reminder."
"Even if you can do these sorts of things by magic, we'd like it if you could practice manually at least once or twice," Wesley encouraged. "And then feel free to discuss among yourselves the range of your abilities and what sorts of things you can do magically. It's always a good idea to know who can do what in the event of a crisis."
He began handing out supplies to everyone. "Otherwise, we'll do a few quick demonstrations, and afterwards you can feel free to practice on one another," he said. "And you're welcome to come find myself or Dolf if you have any questions."
Dolf picked up a long roll of bandage himself. "We're going to start with bandaging a wound," he said, and began the demonstration.
