Library [9/30]

Wesley assumed that, given the fact that his class had been cancelled in light of the guests arriving, it would probably be all right if he missed today's shift. But he didn't mind. It wasn't as though he had any guests coming for him, after all, and he rather liked the library, for all its odd quirks. Of course, today it seemed determined to be difficult, as if sensing that Wesley was having an easier time than most island residents on this particular weekend, and there were various books strewn on the floor that were not necessarily appropriate for visitors to see. So he bustled around picking them up and returning them to their rightful places, huffing a bit when more started appearing all over the place.

"And this is my library," Belle said as she happily bustled through the door, a tall young man with shoulder-length blond hair trailing after her. "It has nearly everything you could want to read -- I've already checked out a few for us, and they're back at my apartment -- but if you're curious about pretty much anything, we have it here." She dropped her voice, a little reverent, and added, "And those are called computers, and I'm...really not sure how they work? But I think they might be a sort of magic."

It was then that she noticed Wesley, who her guest had already given a shy smile and a wave to. "Wesley! Hello! Do you have anyone visiting for the weekend? You don't need to stay in here if you have guests to greet!"

"Adam," he said, a little unused to shaking hands, still. He was a prince -- people usually, you know, bowed. But considering before that he would have been relegated to shaking paws, he'd happily take it. "The pleasure's mine. Belle's been telling me about her library, and you're...one of the aides, I assume?" He glanced around, and added, "This might be even bigger than our one at home."

"More?" Adam asked, as Belle looked on in amusement. "Ours at home goes...higher, I think, to the ceiling. But this is already an absurd -- " he shot a guilty look at Belle, and corrected, "generous amount of space for books."

"We don't have computers," Belle offered, looping her arm through Adam's and raising an eyebrow at him. "That's certainly something lacking. We should figure out how to bring some home."

And, of course, because it was some kind of a competition, "Does your library at home, Wesley, have computers?"

"France," Adam said proudly, and with absolutely no trace of a French accent. oh, Disney. "Southeast, in the countryside."

"And about two hundred-odd years ago," Belle added, and now Adam was staring at her because she hadn't really mentioned the whole 'future' thing before now.

"Well, I certainly do," Belle agreed. "And I've had my share of magic for a lifetime," she added, slanting a look at Adam. "But they're fascinating, all the same. Just like how any unknown entity is interesting."

"I'm very interested!" Belle said, eyes widening. "It's a trial to set up the thing for class every week -- I'd love to learn how to operate it properly. And then I could bring some home!" she added to Adam, who looked rather bemused by the whole concept.

[of course! go be outside, omg!]
