Don't Be Evil [Friday, Second Period]

Oz was nowhere in sight when his class arrived. There was however a movie projector with a note attached to it.

Watch the film.

Don't be evil.

I'll know.

Finding out that today was a movie day was like a blessing for Sam. It meant that he could pretend to watch while his thoughts wandered towards the Council meeting later on.

He was still sour about that whole thing but covered it with an indifferent expression. Every so often, he'd glance around the room but his eyes never stayed on one person too long.

He was good at pretending he didn't care even if he did. But, he wasn't being evil so that was something.

Natalie wasn't being evil, but she also wasn't really watching the movie, either. She was spending the class doodling in her notebook, and every once in a while jotting down French translations for a line or two of dialogue from the film.

It kept her nice and occupied from looking at people. Not that there was anyone not to look at. Of course not.

Topher's intention was to try to take a nap.

But then he got really into the movie, and sooner or later he was staring wide-eyed at the screen like it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen.

Oh, Topher.

Bart knew exactly what to do with this. He ran out of the room (through the door, opening it would have taken too long) and came back seconds later with a bag of popcorn. He sat down and started watching.

Then about 20 minutes into the movie, he started getting confused and frustrated. Why were they all taking with weird accents? How were they going through time without superspeed? Where was the stern parental figure telling them not to affect causality?

This movie wasn't realistic at all.

Sooooo, essentially the teacher gave them an unsupervised movie day and told them he'd know if they skipped out?

Now who was being evil?
