The Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Though he'd heard about something like it being in the works, the club fair wasn't what Simon had been looking for.

Regardless, it was what he found, just as it was being set up. He almost left straight away, to avoid being in anyone's way, but then his curiosity won out. So, he decided to stay and take a look at the club schedule.

Couldn't hurt, could it?

"I've heard." And now, pinging him with a very sad look. "Only heard, of course. Since I haven't been free to join."

You know. Up until now, right, Tony?

"...the sorority?" He was just going to assume that was the case. Because clearly no girl beyond Rosella would try this on him.

Karla made a face. "No, don't be silly. Of course I could join that."

You know. If it weren't being run by Rilla.

"I mean the frat! You guys have pizza! And...other stuff! Frat stuff!"

"Oh, I thought maybe you poisoned them with cookies once." IT MADE PERFECT SENSE.

"Why would I poison them with cookies?" Karla asked, not getting it. "I had fun last year."

...Though, Rilla...hmmm...

Tony gave her a look, wondering if he should save people the food poisoning. Or just himself.

"For not doing frat things?" He was an awesome hero.

"Or I could just join the frat," Karla pointed out. Reasonably. "Where do I sign?"

"Over at the sorority," Tony replied. "C'mon. At least Rosella tried the fake mustache."

"I don't want to join the sorority," Karla said. "I want to join the frat. If I wanted to join the sorority, I'd be over at that table."

Just agree now, Tony. Don't make Karla use her secret weapon.

"Why?"

It had to be asked!

"Because the frat sounds way more fun than the sorority," Karla said. "And I like you and Warren better than I like Quinn and Rilla."

Well, she had nothing against Quinn. Didn't really know her, but they'd also gotten along. Rilla, on the other hand...

"Then you can hang out with us without being a part of the frat." He was going to risk some of his computers and even offer, "I'll even teach you how to beat Ben at Call of Duty."

By cheating. Hard.

If you weren't cheating, you weren't trying.

"Tony, are you really not going to let me join the frat?" Karla asked, giving him sad girl eyes.

Last chance before she invoked her secret weapon ~~of meanness.~~

"What are you doing?" OH GOD, KARLA. ONLY HE WAS ALLOWED TO DO THAT CRAP TO GET OUT OF TROUBLE FOR BREAKING AND ENTERING.

"Nothing," Karla said. Letting her lip tremble, just a little. "Being sad I am unfairly excluded from spending time with the people I like most."

Sniffle.

Tony narrowed his eyes at her. "You're kind of evil, aren't you?"

Karla dropped the sad act. And smiled.

"Pretty evil, yeah," she said.

And was about to play her most evil card, yet.

"Are you really not going to let me join? Is this so you can have more alone time with Warren? I know about the beach, Tony. In detail."

Thaaaaaat she was mostly making up. But he didn't have to know that.

Tony sighed, shaking his head. "I'm pretty sure I'd just hire someone to kill you if that was going to happen. I'm badass."

A beat.

"And kind of slutty."

"And I'm a Skywalker with the might of the diamond mines on my side," Karla said, laughing. "You'd probably hire Warren, in fact."

"I have a vast fortune from doing... something." He wasn't sure. "And I'm pretty sure I killed my d--Howard at the wedding."

"I think I was discovering that the assassin who'd tried to kill me was actually my childhood betrothed," Karla said, rolling her eyes. "Not that I knew he was that assassin at the time. Is was definitely after I got into a screaming fit with Anakin about why I was abandoned at the nunnery."

"...You were supposed to be a nun?"

"I didn't know what was happening!" Karla said, glaring at him. "I was raised behind the convent walls, away from all temptation and corruption of the big city!"

It was sad how many times she'd said that line over the weekend.

"...What was your excuse?"
