The Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Though he'd heard about something like it being in the works, the club fair wasn't what Simon had been looking for.

Regardless, it was what he found, just as it was being set up. He almost left straight away, to avoid being in anyone's way, but then his curiosity won out. So, he decided to stay and take a look at the club schedule.

Couldn't hurt, could it?

"The van my girlfriend gave me? I won't be driving that frequently, because I'm not SHIELD?"

He was going to lead into his point slowly, today.

"...Well, they have a similar engine design for the helicarrier."

No, he wasn't getting it, Warren. Sorry.

That sentence alone was horrifying on so many levels, Tony.

"... What else can it do?"

There was always an 'else.' It was probably a good idea to find out before he wound up causing some sort of international incident.

"There are a few small defensive capabilities. In case you're attacked or something."

Missiles. Lots of 'em.

Warren was now just openly gaping at you, Tony.

"Who would attack a bright yellow minivan?"

Somebody who hated soccer moms?!

"And where do we live?"

"Currently on..." Oh. "Point taken. So, what sort of defensive capabilities?"

Better tell him, Tony. He didn't want to accidentally blow up your dorm room or something.

"A few missiles." A beat. "Some lasers."

Laaaaaasers.

Warren didn't even have a proper rebuke for that.

Warren was just standing there and staring at Tony, his mouth hanging open and his eyes wide in disbelief.

....

Okay. He was making squeaky noises now. That was progress!

Kind of!

"You might need them!"

"I've never fired a weapon in my life!"

Paintball and laser tag didn't count!

"That's okay!" Tony said, totally not getting it. "They're automatic."

WARREN WAS GOING TO BURY HIS FACE IN HIS HANDS AND CRY, TONY.

"What."

That was a word!

"Is that all?"

Flying rocketvan with missiles and lasers. He could deal with that. Yes.

"That should be all." Oh, Warren. Just don't let him touch it again. "Oh, and it has black stripes. Bobby was really insistent on that."

".... Okay. I think I can handle black stripes."

Warren was a very silly boy. Warren was expecting maybe the bottom to be black now. Or racing stripes.

Warren had so much to learn.

Tony gave him a pat on the shoulder. "It could be worse. It could still be the normal mini-van."

The sad thing was, Warren was pretty sure that Tony was right.

"True." A pause. "We'll have to take it for a test drive so that you can show me all the features, huh?"

Such as 'not accidentally killing anyone with a soccer-mom vehicle.'

"It'll be fun!" Tony replied, trying to cheer him up. "You'll have to drive it on the road. I don't actually have a license."

Warren was making the mental note, now. Bribe someone for a license.

Okay. Note made.

"That's fine," he replied, smiling faintly. "I think that's the last car in the world that should ever be impounded."

Ever.

"We can always say it's a prototype for Stark International."

Which the car's logo had been changed to. Shhhhhh.

"And that wouldn't make them want to take it all the more?"

Warren had no idea, here. Pharmaceuticals couldn't be 'impounded,' per se. At least, not by your average joe on the highway.

"Well... If worse comes to worse, we go faster."

"If it's where you're from, it's not like there's anyone around to catch that thing." Oh, X-Men movies.

"I can't see it ending well at all if there were," Warren confessed. "Not that I'm in much of a hurry to head back there anytime soon."

Because... X-Men movies.

"We'd get stopped by SHIELD where I'm from." Or AIM would take notice. Ew. AIM.

"Maybe somewhere uninhabited?"

"Like, what, somewhere in Arizona?"

Running out of fuel there would suck.
