The Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Though he'd heard about something like it being in the works, the club fair wasn't what Simon had been looking for.

Regardless, it was what he found, just as it was being set up. He almost left straight away, to avoid being in anyone's way, but then his curiosity won out. So, he decided to stay and take a look at the club schedule.

Couldn't hurt, could it?

"Well, if the meetings are on Fridays, yeah." He'd bring new stuff from the store.

"Then yes," George said. "Bring music, and fuck yeah, we'll listen to music."

Pause.

"So long as you bring a music player and whatever else and I don't have to, like, remember shit."

It was Apathy Club. They were lucky she bothered to show up every week. Asking more than that was out of the question.

"I can handle that much."

Really, he could.

"You realize, I'm like, the anti-apathy member, right?"

George had to glare at him for a minute.

"No," she said. "Are you gonna try to make us do stuff?"

Because she was so going to be pissed off if he tried any of that shit.

Seifer blinked at the glare.

"Why would I do that? I'll just be the musical coordinator or something."

"Oh." George shrugged. "That, I have no problem with."

People wanting Apathy Club to do something: those people needed to be stopped. Anything that didn't require her to do shit, though, was fine.

"But if you show up with peppy crap some week just to piss me off, I'll stab you in your sleep."

"Well, if I show up with that, it'll probably so you can vent your non-existent rage and break the cds."

Because sometimes, he got lazy at work.

"... Okay," George decided. "You can totally be music coordinator, if we have a designated smashing day. That fucking rules."

Who cared if it didn't fit with the theme of apathy?

"We have a is there meta for Disney shipment in next week."

It was apathy! They could look really bored while doing it.

"We should put those in a microwave," George decided. "I've heard they blow up."

"Why ruin a perfectly good microwave when I can set them on fire?"

"I can't set things on fire," George said. "Microwaves are cheap."

"You can't use lighters?" Because, really, sometimes the mundane way just gave more satisfaction. "C4, now C4 is fun to play with."

"I don't think you can get a CD to catch on fire with a lighter," George said. "I've never tried. Doesn't seem like it'd work."

"Anything will catch on fire if you put enough flammable liquid on it."

Wow.

"Okay," George said. "You are the best fucking boss ever."

Seifer eyed her, because really, she hadn't figured that out yet.

"So, I've signed up for the frat, Pride and Apathy. You know, one of these things is not like the other, and will look very interesting on college apps."

George gave him a thoughtful glance at one of those.

"I didn't know you were gay," she said. And, after a second of reflection, seh added, "Or ... bi, or ... straight but all supportive, or ... none of my business."

"I thought straight, but apparently I'm an equal-opportunity slut when the island wants me to be," Seifer told her.
