The Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Though he'd heard about something like it being in the works, the club fair wasn't what Simon had been looking for.

Regardless, it was what he found, just as it was being set up. He almost left straight away, to avoid being in anyone's way, but then his curiosity won out. So, he decided to stay and take a look at the club schedule.

Couldn't hurt, could it?

"Cool," she laughed, relaxing visibly. "Yeah. I was... sooorta someone no one would ever want to meet."

Especially Dave. Dave had particularly not wanted to meet her.

"Ooh, was it really that bad?" Shhh, gossip was a nice thing. "Like, should we be tracking down the local paparazzi and shaking them down for incriminating evidence?"

... Not that that was something that was regularly done in his family or anything.

"Already taken care of," she laughed. Then, conspiratorily: "But look out for Kenzi."

Damn, that girl could snag an incriminating photo from a mile away.

"It was just... sort of bad." She bit her lip, considering whether to share, then finally went for it. "I, like, had this other identity, and she wanted to break free from school and being normal and all that, so she took over my body and did, like, all this bad stuff." With a little laugh, she joked, "Crazy, right?"

"Fandom," he shrugged. "Someone pushed my sister off the dorm roof just because he apparently hated twins."

Yeah, that sounded even weirder to Miley. Maybe because the whole other identity thing was, well, at least moderately normal to her.

"He hated twins?" she repeated. "And aww, Juliet? She's so nice! I mean, I could see it if she was, like, Mary-Kate and Ashley, 'cause they're mean, but..."

Yes, Miley, do keep showing off.

Of course, her current audience failed to register that as showing off.

"They are, aren't they?" Jeremy agreed, nodding. "Yeah, I don't gt it either. But it was Bod, who's usually a pretty sweet dude even though some old guy who looks exactly like me dated his girlfriend for a while? So I think it was just island wacky."

"Oh, weird," Miley said, evidently still sorting through that in her head. When it clicked, she continued, "Yeah, I've had the random lookalike experience too. Like, Caroline? Looks exactly like one of my danc--"

Beat.

"--dance, uh, team. In middle school. Weird."

"Weird, yeah." If only she'd have been talking to someone a bit less comically oblivious. "Spooky when that happens, right? And I thought Bod was gonna punch me when he found out."

"Guess he was biding his time," Miley teased. "Waiting until just the right moment... to throw your sister off the roof."

Dun dun dun DUN!

"That's not funny," Jeremy replied, but he was only about... one fifth serious. His sister was his BFF and his other half, okay. "I think I prefer to think he's just a really forgiving guy who got hit with a bout of Fandom weird."

"Also fair," Miley granted. She wasn't exactly used to being corrected -- normally she just said what she thought and people went with it. Even to be chastised with one-fifth seriousness, it was still weird. "So, anyway, I'm gonna... go get going on that cheerleading sign-up," she decided. "Promise you'll come to our first game? Uh, match?"

"I don't know if we have those." They didn't. Whatever, he nodded anyway. "But if we do, I'll totally be there. Catch you later, Miley."
