The Elements of Friendship, Thursday, Period 1

The students would possibly be relieved to enter the Danger Shop and not find the dark Everfree Forest on the other side. For one thing, this drastically reduced the likelihood that they would get tossed down a cliff into a giant mud puddle.

On the other hand, they were coming in to find a Carousel shaped shop with the doors flung open in welcome. Inside they'd discover racks of clothes (human-shaped, thankfully), huge, gold-edged mirrors, and an extravagant runway. As the students gathered, the lights in the shop dimmed and the curtain at the end of the runway opened, revealing a dramatically posed Pinkie, decked out to the nines in a pink, white, and blue . . . dress thing, decorated in candy corns, lollipops, and bows. She strutted down the runway, tossing her hair about and flashing broad, confident grins, then stopped at the end, stood on her hind legs, and flung her hooves into the air in a victorious V.

"Welcome back, everypony! You all did super well last week, showing how well you work together in times of spooooooookiness and danger. You sowed the seeds of your friendships, and today we're going to put them to another test. You see, losing a friend's trust is the fastest way to lose a friend . . . FOREVER! So today, you're all going to show that your friends' trust in you is well placed . . . with a fashion show!

"Everypony partner up," Pinkie instructed, hopping down from the run way and pulling one of the racks of clothes over with her teeth. "Then you're all going to dress your partner in whatever fashions you think will impress our very discerning, super fashionable judgey audience. You can pick whatever you want for your partner to wear, but remember, they've put their sartorial reputation in your hooves -- and you're putting yours into theirs. Once you're all dressed up, we'll have our very own fashion show, and our judges will tell us what they think!"

Pinkie stomped her hooves in the pony version of clapping. "So everypony! In the immortal words of Photo Finish, the hippest fashion photographer in all of Equestria: It's time to make . . . da magics!"

Sartorially

Pinkie Pie's trying her hand at being fashionable again. Really, she should just stick to throwing parties.

Pair off, and pick out each others' clothes from the ~~completely moddable~~ clothing racks. Be as outrageous as you like, but remember, your partner is dressing you up, too.

Once everyone's dressed, get on that runway and strut your stuff for our wonderful judge audience, your TAs Juliet and Miley!

Just remember, she's wearing that candy dress willingly. That right there is considered high fashion where she's from.

Miley Ray Stewart

Miley, for one, was thrilled with this change in tone for the class. Clothes! A whole class on clothes clothes clothes!

Dana Scully

Miley will be thrilled to help Juliet judge, yup yup!

She's used to celebrity judging as Hannah Montana. She'll deal. :D

Miley was around and fully prepared to judge peoples' ensembles, though she did look on the fashion show with a biiiit of envy that she couldn't participate.

But? She had insane amounts of pretty clothes at home. Probably better ones, too. That was what she was reminding herself every time she caught a glimpse of something bedazzled.

She's edited in! Woo!

Hooray!

Scully, who had tended to favor boxy suits that made her look tough in her last life, and was trying to look presentable for a college-oriented teenager now, and occasionally gave up and slid back into FBI Woman, was stumped. Most of this was way more ridiculous than she'd ever wear.

Jeremy Darling

Jeremy was pleased with this class. Of course he was, it was about shallow things he happened to like!

Even if he worried a bit about letting anyone dress him, since Jules was out of the question for partnering up.

Chuck Bartowski

Squall Leonhart

Squall was trying really hard -- and failing -- to understand what trust had to do with clothes.

Juliet Darling

This was, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the best class ever. Juliet tried to remember she had to be impartial, but she was pretty sure Jeremy would rock it even without her help.

Juliet kept her notebook out and was taking meticulous notes as the other students built their ensembles. She'd never been asked to be a fashion show judge, but she was sure she would be soon enough.

Rilla Blythe

Rilla was so excited about this. It also reminded her that she needed to go out and find herself an adorable winter hat soon.

Spock

Scully wasn't even sure if this was a good idea, but... "Pinkie?" She'd been very clear about not being called Ms. Pie, after all. "I was hoping you'd recovered from last weekend." Not as a good little cultist this time, though.

Pinkie tilted her head all the way to the side. "Recovered from what?"

No, she hadn't forgotten the events of the weekend.

"Umm.. wanting us all to go to Equestria, where love and tolerance would rule?" At least Pinkie didn't seem so hypnotic today. That was good, right?

"Why am I even in this class?" Scully despaired.

"Oh that!" Pinkie lifted a front hoof and waved it dismissively. "Why would I need to recover from that?"

"...." Um. Well. "So you're fine. And -- that wasn't unnerving, being a different, somewhat dramatic, person last weekend?"

Pinkie tilted her head further. She was now looking at Scully almost upside down. "Nope! It was fun. Don't you like love and tolerance?"

Scully automatically tilted her head sideways to continue speaking to Pinkie. "Of course I like love and tolerance. I didn't really like being pregnant with an alien, though. Not that the two were connected, it was just a very weird weekend to me."

"Oh! Yeah, that would be weird," Pinkie decided. She snapped her head back up and it wobbled audibly for a moment before settling. "I didn't know there were so many aliens around here!"

Of course, from Pinkie's perspective, every non-pony on the island might as well be an alien.

Scully straightened, off-balance and feeling a little silly, but she was talking to a pink pony, that was inevitable.

"I know there's more than a few? But I couldn't tell you how many. My friend Spock is one." ... no, that baby had not been his. She was pretty sure she would've know that. Yikes.

"Oh." Pinkie blinked. "Did you throw an alien baby shower?"

These were the important details to know, yes.

"I-- didn't really have time. It went very fast." Now, why hadn't she thought of that? Because she wasn't Pinkie Pie, that's why. "There there was Jack trying to keep me from leaving, and an argument with Bruce."

"Well, you should keep it in mind for next time."
