"So okay. Me and Mr. Caffrey have decided to start simple, with the parts of the con." Kenzi had brought candy for everyone else this time.  Lots of her other classes had food, after all. Plus coffee.

"The roper, the store, the walkaway, the fix; give me examples of each."

Mr. Caffrey was drinking milk-and-coffee out of a bowl again.

Until suddenly he wasn't, and the class was treated to the sight of their actual teacher. Without very much on.

Except the fedora, which he good-naturedly swiped off his own head and held in a spot that needed a bit more covering right now, thank you very much.

He blinked. Even looked surprised for a moment. Then he held out one hand to Kenzi for the clothes she had on hand, and once they were provided, scurried off to change. From halfway down the hall, he called, "Discuss! What she said!"

"Not to mention appearing in Sea World in multiple locations," Jack chuckled. "Let's add.... the pot cleaner, the rubber ball and the shin kicker. You got any suggestions?"

"Sounds good to me!" she decided. "Ooh, and the wig."

What? It had been instrumental in her own con for almost six years now! It totally deserved a mention.

"Jack Carter," he said in return as he leaned back in his chair. "From Eureka, Oregon. Judging from that twang in your voice, I'm betting your from the South."

"Good guess!" She shot Jack a charming, flirty smile, showing off teeth that had been described as "adorably crooked." You know, by her. "Yep! Crowley Corners, Tennessee. Though I've lived in LA the last few years. Can't seem to ditch the twang."

"Los Angeles," Jack said with his own "aw shucks" kind of grin. "I used to stomp around there for a while. Huge Dodgers fan. Huge. I think living there was a good training ground for living in Fandom."

Well actually Eureka was a better training ground but most of that was top secret. Shh.

"Definitely," Miley agreed. "Crowley Corners was cute and quaint and all that, but if I hadn't moved to LA and the excitement there, there's no way I could handle Fandom."

"Okay but when you moved to LA you did get the memo about trading in your cowboy boots for stilettos, right?" Jack joked. "I'd hate for you to feel out of place.

"Not sure I'm ever gonna make the switch," Miley laughed. "Cowboy boots are crazy comfortable."

She grinned at Jack, sizing him up. "You know, I bet you'd look good in a pair."

"Probably," Jack said with a shrug. "As long as there wasn't any spurs. I'm not the kind of guy who likes to go jingle-jangle-jingle."

"I think I have a men's pair somewhere in my room..." she said thoughtfully.

As a clarification, she added, "My brother's stuff got mixed up with mine. Don't ask."

"But you could try them sometime, if you wanted! I bet you'd look really cute."

Annnnnd suddenly with the word "cute" Jack's brain skipped a track or two and his ears started getting red.

"Oh! Sure!" he said as fumbled with words. "You know. If they fit. My feet. What... size are they?"

"Noooot sure." Please, Miley had never shown an interest in her brother's footwear. "Not that big. He's very short."

A fact which she reminded Jackson whenever she could, thank you.

Jack looked down as his feet and tried to determine if it could be determined if his feet were around the "not that big" size.

"Well, I could stop by and see if they fit I guess. Been a while since I wore a pair."
