Wednesday, Period Three: What was the school board thinking giving Jamie Madrox a teaching position?
When the students entered the danger shop today they would notice that it looked just like a normal classroom.
With the exception of several couches pushed up all against the walls of the room.
They would also notice a very stern looking Jamie standing in front of the classroom.
"Good morning class," Jamie said with a scowl. "Did anyone remember your assignment last week? Did you?"
He shook his head and threw his hands up in the air in disgust. "Not one of you completed your assignment. Not one of you introduced yourself falsely. How do I know? It wasn't on the news. And if the squirrels didn't see it? It didn't happen."
He then made a "tsk-tsk" sound. "You kids give me no choice. As of now? You are all failing my class."
That ought to give the A-Type personalities in class a kick in the gut.
"If you want to pass this course? You better be prepared to do what I say. Your assignment today is to learn how to Duplicate. Yep. Like me. How does that work? Using kinetic energy as the key, the danger shop will then create duplicates of yourself to interact with. Like me they will show various aspects of your personality at the time of your creation. Your assignment is then to convince your duplicates to work together to do this simple task..."
He gave his students a big grin.
"Build the ultimate pillow fort from these couch cushions. Sound simple? Well start smacking yourselves and see how easy it is."
Jamie started to turn before he remembered one important thing.
"Oh! One more important thing. No matter how tempting it is, don't make out with yourself. It'll just lead to social awkwardness later on."
...
"Not that I know anything about that. Let's get to work!"

Re: Duplication!
"Don't listen to them," she said, hoping to make it into his lap before she could be stopped. "You're about to get very lucky."
"The Hell he is!" The real Karla snapped, trying to figure out how she could take down the trampy version without accidentally creating more.
Re: Duplication!
Actual Warren was now pulling himself to his feet and trying the 'get between the two of them and spread his wings' school of thought. There could be an awful lot of Warren in the way, when he wanted there to be.
"You're all grounded. Make a pillowfort or something!"
Re: Duplication!
"If you insist," the duplicate purred. "I'm sure we can put that pillow fort to good use."
Re: Duplication!
"I am not hearing this!"
"Oh, it's not so bad, pudding. He does have a very nice chest."
Gay Warren was also grounded. Stop leering, Gay Warren.
Re: Duplication!
"Very large," the duplicate agreed. "I know for a fact that your wingspan is proportional to your c--"
And that was Karla, throwing up a hasty aural shield so no one else would have to hear the rest of that sentence.
Re: Duplication!
Away to where, he had no idea. But, away, somewhere.
"Such a shame," Warren-of-the-rainbows sighed. "It would have been so pretty, too.
And a pout.
Re: Duplication!
"Quiet," Karla ordered Rainbow-Warren. Those were thoughts she didn't need to have right now. "You," she said, pointing to her duplicate. "Playtime's over. We're heading back and building a pillowfort. Without Warrens."
The duplicate pouted, but started walking back towards the group of other Karlas--before veering off and heading towards Ben instead.
Darkness have mercy. If Karla didn't kill someone today, it would be a bloody miracle.
