Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Once people got through their introductions and initial brain breaking, some of them would surely want to sit down. Luckily, there were plenty of tables and chairs set up across the lawn, some in the shade, some out in the open, some close to the buffet, and some in as much of a shadowy corner as one could get in an outdoor space with no actual walls. It was all part of the Fandom experience, really.

[OCD is up! This is the SECOND post for general mingling. Use this post if your browser can't handle the comment load of the first mingling post. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

How strange, that a person she had never met from two centures in the past could now feel like a neighbor.

"Similar how?" she asked. "I should hope adjustment does not mean I must adopt modern dress."

She could not imagine comfortable walking around in half of these ensembles.

"Knights, armor, castles, no electricity, royalty," Bruce said. "But he also has monsters to deal with. That's probably the main difference."

"And you shouldn't have to worry about your clothing as long as you're comfortable enough in them. But if I can make a suggestion, it wouldn't hurt to have a couple modern outfits. You never know when it might come in handy."

Bruce had a dress ready for any time he turned into a girl in the future. Be prepared.

Lucrezia nodded. "It could not hurt to know how to look the part," she said. "Allow myself to fall into the crowd, should it become necessary."

She doubted Rome would send assassins after her, specifically, but that did not mean there would not arise situations which required discretion.

"You have not told me," she continued. "Where is it that you hail from?"

"Gotham City. It's a city north of here in most of the realities it exists in," Bruce said. "And I'm sure that doesn't make much sense. It comes with the territory in Fandom."

"Not overly much, I'm afraid," she admitted. "Do you not know where Rome is, then? Someone confessed it earlier, and I was shocked. I suppose I should be more surprised that anyone knows at all."

"Most people will know about it. Some people, like me, have even been there," Bruce said. "But not everyone here is from this world, so their ignorance is understandable."

"Other worlds," she said. "Of course. I feel quite as if I am going to wake up shortly, having had the most ridiculous fever-dream. And Mother will pat my head with a damp cloth and reassure me, and all will be well again."

"I've heard similar sentiments a few times today," Bruce said. "Just don't panic when that doesn't happen, okay?"
