BWI Airport | Portalocity Lounge | Saturday Morning

Petra was so relieved to find the Portalocity lounge and a banner proclaiming 'Fandom High.' She was pretty sure that meant she was in the right place, even if she did seem to be the first one here, and it meant she could sit down and stop dragging her luggage (two large, new-looking suitcases and an extremely battered green leather overnight case with an Audrey Hepburn decal on top) all over the airport.

She picked out a chair with a good view of the door so she could see new arrivals and sat down with Holly Go-Overnightly in her lap, then pulled her phone out. All her friends were still asleep, no doubt, so texting was out, but surfing the web seemed like a good way to kill some time while she waited for other people to show up. She hoped she wasn't the only new student. That would be awkward.

"Only today," Hercules greeted with a smile. "Normally I am a teacher by day, a partier by night, and a hero from the day I was born."

He was a bit manic, yes.

This school was either totally cool, to not care if its teachers wore non-gender-specific attire, or totally crazytown. She was withholding judgment. "You're a teacher? What do you teach?"

"Well, this fall I am teaching a class of laboring!" Hercules said. "But the fun kind, not the sweatshop kind. Much like my fabled twelve labors, or the more recent reality show in which I participated! But there will be more of them. Because the class is more than twelve weeks."

He was a bit rambly. He was just excited.

"Like...shop?" Look, it was the best she could come up with from that.

"Heroic deeds!" Hercules said. "Like defeating the Nemean Lion! Cleaning the stables of... that one place! Fetching the apples of Hesperides!"

He grinned. "That was some of my finest work."

"Don't tell me," Petra said sarcastically, "Your name is Hercules."

"You've heard of me, good," Hercules said. "We get some at this school from worlds that do not know my history. It is encouraging that someone finally knows!"

So...total crazytown. Or maybe more hazing? Either way, Petra was pulling her phone out to send a text as she spoke. "Shouldn't you be in, I don't know, ancient Greece?" she asked as fired off to her fellow Teen Dreamers, May have accidentally sent self to asylum. Stand by for rescue attempt?

"It's been a long time since then," Hercules said. "There is too much of this modern world for me to want to go back to then!" He laughed, happily.

"Right," Petra said, sliding her phone back into her bag. "There was no chocolate there! Or...buses." Oh God, the guy who thought he was a Greek demigod was driving the bus. "...do you have a drivers license?"

"Of course!" Hercules said. He wasn't going to mention it was a forgery, of course. "Why else would the fine people in charge of the school let me drive the shuttle?"

Because they, too, were crazy? But that seemed unlikely. Maybe it was just hazing. "Right, they totally wouldn't. Carry on, fine bus driver, sir."

"I will," Hercules said. "And I assure you, I got it here in one piece. Getting it back will be just as easy!"
