True Heroism! The Olympian Way! Session 6, Period 3
Hercules figured after the very dreadful and serious events of last week, he needed to do something fun and lighthearted for the class today. So, they met in the Danger Shop, which appeared to be programmed into a small, idyllic 1950's neighborhood. Pastel painted houses formed into a circle around a fountain, each house with a tree in their front yard.
And each tree held two mewling, adorable kittens, and at the base of each tree were two adorable kids unable to get their adorable kittens out of the tree.
"Heroism comes in many forms, as I have said. All of you showed different kinds this past week. Today we will explore the more human kind of heroism, helping the helpless. These poor children cannot get their kitties out of their trees. It is your duty to help them, as the firefighters are off... fighting fires. Once all the kittens are rescued, I will have a special surprise at the end." He clapped his hands together. "Get to it!"

Eventually, he just climbed up the tree and used the half eaten chocolate bar in his pocket as a way to get the kitten closer. The kitten was stubborn though and made Percy scoot out onto the branch before coming closer to him and allowing Percy to scoop her up before she got a hold of the chocolate.
Then, it was just a matter of climbing down and giving the kitten a few skritches under her chin.

Since she had no helpful powers for this particular occasion (or not that she could use in class, anyway), she was following Percy's lead and climbing, making what she hoped were encouraging noises in the hope the fuzzy kitten busy cleaning itself on one of the upper branches came down to her.
All the while a continuous commentary of, "You're doing it wroooong," came from the kid she was trying to help.

The kid beside him was weepy and whining that pissing off the cat would only make it climb higher and Nico basically wanted to be anywhere but there.
"Hold on to your freakout," he told the kid before slipping into the shadow of the tree and out up on the branch by the cat. There wasn't a no powers rule in class, right? Well, it was too late if it was since the feline was already flipping out at the sight of Nico so close, but luckily the cat chose to run back down to the kid, seeing its enemy up in the branches and ruining an afternoon nap in the leaves.
Nico shrugged and jumped back to the ground where the kid was cuddling the cat that totally hissed again at him - way to say thanks. "You're welcome," she said pointedly, pushing his bangs out of his eyes.

And he did handle it, though the scratches one kitten left on the back of his neck when it decided his head was a good spot to sit on instead of a branch would probably sting for a while.

Sam's cat-rescuing methods ≠ everyone's cat rescuing methods. But she did manage to annoy the cat into forgetting it was scared and making a leap at her head.
Re: Surprise!
If this kept up, she was going to get totally home sick for dear little three legged, rabid frothy.
