If any students arrived at the Danger Shop today, they would find a note on the door and a box on the ground. The note said "GO BACK TO THE DORMS. TAKE SOMETHING FROM THE BOX TO HELP YOU GET THERE. THAT'S ENOUGH DEFYING DEATH THIS WEEK. -DG"

The box had expandable steel batons with rubber grips. That way students could hit something a few feet away if they needed to get away.

Cara had decided to stay on the safe side...of course her definition of safe side involved the Mord'Sith not considering a sudden spate of monsters a reasonable excuse for a trainee missing her lessons.

Her agiels (which she doubted anyone was going to argue with her for bringing to class this week) were more than enough to (eventually) see her safely back to the dorms, but if Dick was going to leave them a box of weapons it would be churlish not to take one of those as well.

Stephanie hadn't skipped out on trying to go to class today, figuring Dick might have had some kind of useful information for them in a situation like this. But if class was cancelled, well . . . she wasn't going to object too much to that, either.

Nor was she going to object to the baton. Tim got to carry around a collapsible staff when he'd been Robin, so why not? Totally part of her arsenal now, ha! Maybe she could get a little Bat-symbol to put on it.
